SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Four female military service members have filed a lawsuit challenging the Pentagon's ban on women serving in combat.
The lawsuit was filed in federal court in San Francisco Tuesday and is the second such federal challenge filed by female service members this year.

Of course, the ACLU won’t argue they also be subjct to the draft or same PT requirements.
The military has become another social organization apparently
Fine, put them up front and let the taliban have at em.
The fact that sports is still segregated by sex should be an indicator.
If all things are equal between the sexes how come more females aren’t playing in the NFL?
And how do we know if they are women or were women or were men at one time >>!?
And meeting the men’s standards should not be optional.
I was fine with separate physical standards when womenz wanted to be nurses, etc.
Make it mandatory for ALL females to pass the men’s standards, regardless of branch or MOS. Why should they get a choice no man gets?
” Make it mandatory for ALL females to pass the mens standards, regardless of branch or MOS. “
It will never happen.
Social engineering or national defense, which is the purpose of our military?
I’ll believe they’re combat equals when they:
1) pass the same PT test
2) have to sign up for the draft
3) get deployed to the front lines in equal #’s
4) die in equal #’s
I bet they’d get a lot of medals for “Courageous Restraint”
That's probably where the START for women in Combat will be allowed....but you KNOW how that will be followed by ACLU claims of "disproportionate representation" (such as with school test scores), and pretty soon the bar will be lowered so that if you can stand upright, you pass the PT exam.....
Limp-wrists and rug-munchers are ALREADY joining the military to have fun, so we can complete the sissyfying by watering down the military even further.
Who wants their daughter to be the next sole woman on a submarine??????
This is such crap. They aren’t needed or wanted there. In the post Vietnam era, the last lawsuit about the draft was brought by a male who said it was discriminatory that he had to register but women didn’t.
The last federal court ruling was that it was not discriminatory because women were barred by law from serving in combat roles.
The minute one of these women wins a lawsuit, that protection is gone.
Everyone thinks it’s about the few that could hack it in that position. But what it really does is subject EVERY American girl is subject to any future draft. The girls that wanted to date the quarterback and not BE the quarterback, will all be potentail draftees. It’s insane.
For extra fun, this is mostly about women officers who need those assignments for further promotions.
Dance around it all you want. Infantry combat is a male game. And no matter how many Hollywood fantasy movies imply otherwise, the testosterone fueled world of infantrymen isn’t meant to be lead by women.
I’m sure they also sued to equalize the Physical Fitness Test.
Also, can they perform a combat carry of a wounded soldier?
“Fine, put them up front and let the taliban have at em.”
Maybe the women can interview the Taliban and ask a lot of dumb questions like the affirmative action chicks on the NFL broadcasts.
Then call it a “reasonable accommodation”.
Ground combat is pretty raw, violent and terrifying. I wouldn’t want to have had women along in Vietnam.
I normally would never say that about an American. However these chicks are putting themselves above their Country and their fellow military members.
They’re not looking for equality.
They want the benefits, with none of the sacrifices.
“And no matter how many Hollywood fantasy movies imply otherwise, the testosterone fueled world of infantrymen isnt meant to be lead by women.”
I agree, however, look around you; fantasy is fast becoming the new reality. When the old true reality finally re-surfaces, as it must, the wake up is not going to be pretty.
