Romney aides blast 'hypocrites' who asked for cabinet jobs and are now trashing him
Daily Mail (UK) ^ | November 23, 2012 | Toby Harnden

Posted on 11/24/2012 9:15:02 PM PST by Lancey Howard

Former senior aides to Mitt Romney have hit back at the 'craven hypocrites' in the Republican party who just days before the election were clamouring for jobs in a Romney administration and are now belittling him.

'There were one or two well-known figures who were late committing to support him, were the most eager to curry favour when it looked like we would win and are now out there trashing the governor.

(snip)

But the other senior adviser, who declined to be named when criticising senior Republicans, singled out Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and Newt Gingrich as among those who had been quickest to lambast Romney. After Romney told donors on a post-election conference call that many voted for President Obama because he had offered them 'gifts', Jindal said Romney's comments were 'absolutely wrong'. He said: 'We have got to stop dividing American voters. We need to go after 100 per cent of the votes, not 53 per cent - we need to go after every single vote.'

That was a reference to Romney's notorious '47 per cent' comments in which he said that proportion of voters was dependent on government and would inevitably back a Democrat.

Gingrich called the 'gifts' comments 'nuts' and 'insulting' to voters.

The anonymous adviser said: 'Bobby Jindal wanted very, very much to be Vice President. He appeared publicly with Governor Romney after the 47 per cent comments, which the governor himself said were totally wrong. 'Newt Gingrich made it clear to us he wanted to be part of a Romney administration. 'Both these guys - and others - were the governor's best friend when it seemed he was on the brink of becoming our 45th President. Now they're calling him a bum. Real profiles in courage.'

Newt has always been about Newt, expected that.

Disappointed in Jindal though.

We are supposed to believe the 47% remark was a gaffe. It will be hammered into us until it becomes “conventional wisdom”. But it’s a lie. It will however have the effect in future elections that the truth is to be avoided at all cost.

Fall for what? The election is over, Romney just had his head handed to him.

Yes, his gaffes added up.

Yeah, I blame A LOT on Christie’s suck up job on Obama after the storm. Obama did SQUAT, but got lots of accolades thanks to Dough Boy from Jersey.

How’s that working for you now Dough Boy?

Disappointed in Jindal though.

Yeah, he showed his true colors as a pandering coward.
He should have simply kept his mouth shut.

[ One of the breaths of fresh air from Romney was his “47%” remark. It was, of course, dead on accurate. ]

Romney “accidentally” spoken the truth and then started with the “Hamina HAmina” distancing himself from the comment..

When acused of being rich he did the same thing...

Romney does not believe in the conservative message and is ashamed of it..

The absolute LAST MAN republicans should have picked to represent them..
Romney therefore is a shill.. a phoney.. fake.. posuer..

Yes.. I’m gonna say.. I’m bold......... A.. L.I.B.E.R.A.L...

When Romney wins the election, then you get to pretend that he was not a loser, and a gaffe making disaster, you don’t to play that pretend game immediately after he gets wiped out against Jimmy Carter the second.

RE :”The dems won only due to massive voter fraud. Any conservative or repub that fails to recognize that fact is unprepared for what happens next”

BLA-BLA-BLA. Romney was a loser candidate who ran a disaster of a campaign.

This type of paranoid conspiracy talk (if it was commonly believed by Republicans) will just lead to more disasters. Its called ignoring your mistakes.

Obama ran on something (his liberal world view) and he got minorities in the swing states to go out and vote for him. Romney ran on nothing and in comparison he had no effective ‘get out the vote’ campaign in those states. He wasted his contributors money.

Obvious Rule #1 : Don't insult the voters before your election.

Obvious Rule #2 : Don't expect a R candidate who takes a bunch of positions that he (himself) don't believe in to win an POTUS election. (exhibit A = McCain, Exhibit B=Romney)

As big and costly a gaffe as it was, no one ever succeeded in defining what it meant, did they?

Did Romney ever succeed in defining it, who is the 47% that he dismisses??

But it’s a lie. It will however have the effect in future elections that the truth is to be avoided at all cost.

Where have you been? The truth is to be avoided at all costs by the GOP.......re-read some the FR posts and you'll learn Myth was pro-life, pro-RKBA, and the second coming of Reagan (I think I threw up a little when I read that one).

The truth, that was avoided at all costs is Myth was and is a pro-baby murder, anti-gun, pro-faggotry liberal.

The truth will continue to be avoided at all costs because by and large the majority of alleged conservatives will vote whoever the (R) party throws at them. The stupid party has no reason to change because when it comes down to "their guy" conservatives will swallow anything.

Anyone that disagrees will be branded a traitor and a communist. Bill fluken-Ayers could run on the (R) ticket and win the nomination and there will be supposed conservatives lining up to vote for him and will call you a commie for not supporting him. They will twist themselves into pretzels explaining how the other GOPE pawns in Kongress will hold his feet to the fire and that he isn't as bad as the alternative.

Of course the NRA will also go to bat for the (R) candidate and pretend they didn't push "assault" weapons bans. The sheeple will eat it right up and believe whatever the NRA puts out. See Myth Romney 2012 for a prime example.

The majority of conservatives are good for burning up phone lines, writing their Kongresscrats, and waving a Gadsden flag in DC, but at the end of the day they'll crawl over broken glass for whatever liberal jackass the Stupid Party puts at the top of the ticket.

Shameful.

One thing you can expect from a coward is a knife in the back.

And if the GOP is one thing, it is a coward.

Romney wasn’t going to define it or anything else. He knew that giving any details was going to hurt. He liked being the vague, fuzzy candidate.

RE :”Ironically, I agree with you (FUMR) and I also agree with the “advisor” (FUBJ and FUNG).
They’re ALL a bunch of cowards.
Give me a candidate who isn’t afraid to screw political correctness and speak the truth.”

FUBJ and FUNG didn't get the R nomination by crushing their competitors in the R primary and then losing to O by running a lame campaign. But Romney did that.

"Gingrich called the 'gifts' comments 'nuts' and 'insulting' to voters."

Gingrich is right.

Voters should be insulted.

Everyone knows those weren't "gifts", they were bribes.

Romney Rules!

Can we now go through life without hearing anything else about Mitt Romney? Please??

I've seen F.R. commenters here who want him to run again in 2016.

Stuck on stupid for sure.
