Tony Romo isn't worthy to shine Danny White's shoes.
“You say that as if there were New Yawkers who arent flaming libs.”
I’m from NJ (where a lot of New Yorkers fled the madness); I can see Manhattan from the east side of my town, but haven’t been there in years (it is only ten miles away). NJ has plenty of liberals, but they are probably more close-minded on racial matters and not as enviornmentally-conscious as typical libs (many fled NYC as the demographics changed, and love driving their cars - any shape & size - everywhere).
Giants fans tend to be older, whiter, and more employable; with a 30 year waiting list, the Giants could be picky (and fans wouldn’t endanger their season tickets with the same antis as Jets fans). For years the Jets weren’t allowed to have Monday night games in the stadium because of their fans, and when the Wall Street Journal did a story about unruly fans a few years back the Jets were one of a few teams mentioned (along with the Eagles & Vikings).
Take consolation in this, FRiend.
The Pirates overcame 3-1 deficits to beat the Orioles in the World Series in both 1971 and 1979.
Cheers!
I'll see you and raise you the red-headed kneeling cheerleader just to the right of center in the first row.
Cheers!
DC has a crappy offensive line, no running game, doubious receivers at best, and it is up to Romo, throwing 40 something times a game to make up for it while running for his life.
Without a decent OL, your QB has not time to throw, your receivers have no time to finish their routes, and more importantly, your RB has no where to run.
Why doesn;'t DC have a offensive line?
Jerry, the Deadhead Owner/"GM"
Ah, those were the days! :)
True about the lack of an O-line..I just love to pick on Romo..
H/T Hoodat :o)
Never, this will....The Miracle at the Meadowlands.

It did however turn around the NJ Giants, perhaps it can do the same for the NJ Jets.
Go Cubs!
Let's face it; Jerry Jones is to the Cowboys as LBJ was to the Vietnam war.
That idiot needs to get the hell out of Dallas and go back to the Ozarks.
I just don’t get the Cowboys’ loyalty to Romo....if I were Jerry Jones, I would have moved the heavens and the Earth to get a crack at drafting RGIII.
Bump for another coined FReeperword. ;-)
American born and raised (former) Mets fan here. I got hooked on them back in day when we used to get channel WWOR here in MA on cable and as a child I was intrigued at their suckiness (NL-style vs. the Red Sox AL-style of suck).
I was at game 4 of the 1986 World Series in Boston with my Mets hat and jacket on.
I was happy to see Davey Johnson win NL Manager of the Year last week.
dreadful. I was in Brooklyn when Sciraldi-Gedman-BB had the game 6 meltdown. Sickening.
I was planning on getting to CitiField this past SEPT for my first visit. Got too busy. Try again in ‘13. Ever get to a Binghamton game in the area, like Portland, ME? Or Buffalo vs Pawsox? Or Brooklyn @ Norwich?
Sox are still getting some use out of Pedro Beato, which is what Kelly Shoppach was worth. Does the name Lenny DiNardo ring a bell?
“(NL-style vs. the Red Sox AL-style of suck)”
Very funny! Now I’ve met 2 people (though I don’t know if it counts if you’re a “former” fan). Oh what the heck; TWO Mets fans born in this country...
: )
“Very funny!”
Thank you! After the Mets won in ‘86, I lost interest - they didn’t suck anymore.
And we lost WWOR (from Seacaucus, NJ) shortly afterwards I think (used to watch Devils games too - ‘Brendan Byrne Arena’ IIRC), so that cemented the end my Mets fandom.
Shhhhh! I'm really hoping the Chargers will dump Rivers and pick up Tebow. Would love to see a leader actually lead the Bolts! (yes, I know it will never happen!)
Yes, I believe it is now the Continental Arena, though the Devils now play in that social engineering construct in Newark (The Prudential Center, or “the Rock”) - because everyone knows Newark is teeming with hockey fans. They tried to strong-arm the Nets into there as well, but the owner knew better and moved them to Brooklyn (where basketball fans could afford tickets). Now there is no hockey season anyway, so “The Rock” just sits there...
