A rocket exploded in an open area near an Arab village in Gush Etzion around 2:15 p.m. as sirens wailed in Jerusalem during another barrage of rockets and missiles unleashed by Hamas.
The missile exploded in an open area, and no one was injured. Minutes before the sirens rang out, an AFP correspondent in Gaza City reported hearing the loud report of an outgoing rocket.
The attack was claimed by Hamas's armed wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, which said it had fired "an M75 rocket at the occupied city of Jerusalem."
United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, who spent the past two days in Egypt, had been scheduled to hold talks in Jerusalem with Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman shortly after noon.
At least one missile was aimed at Jerusalem last week and reportedly exploded in an open area next to an Arab village in Gush Etzion, located south of the capital.
Shortly earlier on Tuesday, three rockets hit a kibbutz, critically wounding at least one person. The early warning siren system did not operate, and there are fears that several young people, possibly children, are trapped in debris.

I’ll be there in spirit...
I stand with Israel as well.
May God keep you and your family safe!!
Sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with you and the other citizens of Israel.
Fox News is now talking about how great it would to have a ceasefire, and ‘peace’.
Frankly, there isn’t going to be ‘peace’ in Israel until it ferrets out all the missiles, and cleans the place out.
I’m not hoping for ‘peace’ immediately. I’m hoping for a lasting ‘peace’ after weeks of cleaning up Gaza.
If Gaza is allowed to rearm and send in missiles in perpetuity, then the idea ‘peace’ is at hand is ridiculous.
I will add prayers for you and your family to my prayers for Israel. Stay safe and please keep us posted on your safety.
May God protect you, your family, and your neighbors.
Praying for you and yours and all Israel.
May divine providence provide the strengh
and courage to continue this fight.
My family will keep you in our prayers.
Nobody should have to live like this!
The enemy said it, they love death and we love life. There is no negotiating with hate, insanity and terrorism.
Oh no. Please keep us posted. Prayers.
Prayers for your family as well. This goes for all of Israel.
How is it that a city your people founded thousands of years ago is claimed to be occupied?
We refuse to meekly let our Israeli brethren be pushed off the face of the earth by terrorist cretins from the underworld.
Israel is showing great restraint here.
Nobody can convince me otherwise.
That’s just it. We aren’t in the South. They’ve been hitting the Center and now Judah and Samaria (where we are). Gush Etzion is 15 clicks South of Jerusalem, 70 clicks North of Be’er Sheva. Through grape vine I’ve heard one hit near Bet Lehem, and one near Hebron, where we live. They have more range on their substitute wieners now.
That would be like knocking water into a sieve.
Ben Hartman, of the J Post, is tweeting that there is no cease fire. In a way I'm kind of relieved, there should be no cease fire until Gaza is clean! I keep on praying for you and your family, may the Lord keep y'all in the palm of His hand and bring you to safety.
You have all been in my prayers - haven’t stopped thinking about any of you over there... I praise God that your boy was unharmed, and I pray for the children who were, and their families.
I too, as others mentioned, hope there is NOT a cease-fire and that Israel can take care of business instead of being pulled by the whims of these terrorists and the world’s pressure against her. Enough already.
If I could go over and fight, I would. All it would take is ONCE - just ONCE for Israel to go all out and take these scum down. They are like a child poking at a tiger - I pray, just once, that the tiger’s tail could slip out of the world’s hand and that these insane jihadists would be forced to deal with the teeth. I mean REALLY deal with it. No more Mr. Nice Guy - y’know?
No official reports on what you claimed yesterday...Any explanations?
Oh my goodness, I am so sorry. Praying for you all. Stay safe.
This is what my son told me. He was very afraid. His teacher rushed everyone to the shelter, and he heard explosions nearby, and shortly beforehand, the sirens sounded. Teacher told him that one child suffered a leg injury. I don’t know what the official reports said. They might not have chosen to report this, or they may still be investigating. Two of his teachers from last year, whom I called, said there was an explosion near Bet Lehem, but not at school. It’s possible that either my son or his former teachers are mistaken. I told my son to check for a crater in the “tractor park” where he says the explosion occurred, when he went back to school today. When he comes home, I’ll follow up.
