Diplomatic message to Egypt: Hamas terrorism must cease by Tuesday evening or we step up attack.
Israel has delivered an ultimatum to Hamas through Egypt, according to which the IDF will widen its offensive in Gaza in 36 hours unless Hamas ceases firing rockets and smuggling arms into Gaza, IDF Radio reported Monday morning.
Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz told the station that the time left before Israel steps up its attack can be measured in "hours, not days."
"We are at a junction," he said. "Either we go toward a calm or toward a meaningful widening of the operation including a possible move to achieve complete military decision."

There are ongoing contacts between Israel and Hamas through intermediaries, IDF Radio said, but the gaps between the sides are still very large. According to reports in Cairo, Hamas demands a complete removal of the blockade on Gaza, an IDF commitment to stop crossing the security fence into Gaza and a cessation of targeted killings.
Israel, for its part, demands that Hamas cease firing rockets into Israel for a period of "several years" and a cessation of arms smuggling into Gaza. Israel agrees to Hamas's demand that the Rafiah crossing into Egypt be opened, but refuses to open crossings into Israel.
Hamas official Moussa Abu Marzuk said that Hamas will not agree to Israel's demands for a "security belt" on Gaza's eastern side, and a cessation of smuggling through the tunnels.

Looks bad—Hamas can not agree without losing face. Obama will stop Israel even if he must send in Marines to guard and protect Gaza.
I say it depends on what the planes drop on the target.
Hey, it’s only fair. Because Hamas always gives a “warning” before firing a missile or sending a suicide bomber to kill civilians....(Do I really need to append this with a sarcasm tag?)
And this time Elmer Netanyahu wearry, wearry means it!
“At some point you get tired of swatting flies and you have to go for the manure heap.”
“At some point you get tired of swatting flies and you have to go for the manure heap.”
Benjamin Netanyahu is my president !
When the bearded ones make a truce it’s not a sincere promise. When the dirty-beard crowd stops the violence is when Israel will not need to defend itself.
Israel always seems to pull out early, when they do this they just set the conflict up to continue later. They need to devastate square miles. Before public pressure builds.
I have two suggestions.
1. Give Gaza to Egypt. Let them deal with the terrorists. This way any rocket launch and Egypt will have to deal with the consequences.
2. Complete military trashing of Gaza and push all their residents into Egypt. Like what happened with the PLO being forced to Lebanon.
3. Bomb every tunnel so arms cannot be smuggled in and let it go at that. Plus kill all Hamas leadership worldwide.
Just send all Gaza Strippers to Egypt, flatten the Gaza strip , and incorporate it inside Israel withouyt any Palestinians.
Egypt does not want that, which is why they are promoting “peace.” Its time the Egyptians allowed the Gazanians into the Sinai, where they can go back to camel humping and beating their wives, instead of using tunnels from Egypt to Gaza to circumvent arms embargos and supply from Iran.
Israel needs to spell it out in very simple terms the knuckledraggers understand:
Capitulation or liquidation.
That's always been my hope. Take and level Gaza this time, for all time. Any future attacks will be met with the same approach... just in case the PA and its supporters on the West Bank start getting foolish ideas. Muslim filth understand and respect only one thing: the serious threat of annihilation.
Marines? Deployed outside of Bermuda? You’d think the Ghazans were US embassadors, or something.
Bombs away

The question I have is this, what is wrong if Obama does LOSE FACE ? NOTHING!
-——and smuggling arms into Gaza-——
Unenforceable absent the blockade and certain to be broken as soon as the blockade is terminated.
