California, I remember in 1980, was a competitive state for Presidential politics. For five or six elections, though, it has been an automatic lock for Demon rats. If the conservatives would just leave that state--where they are outnumbered by the mouth breathers in the big cities, conservatives could significantly increase the chances for victory in the states where they go.
For instance, Mitt Romney got 4.2 million votes in California.
Imagine if, oh, HALF of those votes left California and moved to Oregon, Nevada, and Washington...
Romney would have won all of those states. 25 more electoral votes.
I know it isn't easy asking people to leave for merely political purposes...I am just pointing our how easy it would be to flip states if conservatives just walked away from the deep Demonrat states. Go to some other, more marginal Demonrat states and change them.

The Republican Party is going NO WHERE, as long as they sign consent decrees like THIS with the Rats.

LOVE YA SARAH!
Yes. Arizona, Montana and North Dakota need help too. Colorado may seem lost now, but 8 years of Gov. Chickenpooper will help the pendulum to swing back.
It would be wonderful to be able to incentivise disenfranchised conservatives to move to critical battleground states like Ohio. But people move for their own reasons and end up where they end up for the same, perhaps a job and not really connected to politics.
The ‘pendulum’ isn’t going to swing so far the next time around. With the dims’s lock on Hispanics growing stronger and stronger thanks to President Santy Klaus, it will be far more difficult to get the votes we need to thrash the opposition.
2016 is by no means a shoe-in just because ‘it’s our turn’. Such thinking is delusional.
Ryan maybe, even though I was not impressed at all with his performance this go round, but the other losers can go pound sand.
2014 will not be a good year for Democrats.
Until the old Republican establishment is gone, Republicans will never win another federal election.
The GOP, as well as conservatives, in the, politically, “bluest of blue” areas of the U.S. have been using such optimism for a very long time, and they are, still, waiting for the political winds of change to go their way.
I would be optimistic as well...the Democrats are out of half-black half-white guys who grew up in Hawaii, smoked a bit of weed, attended two years of Occidental College, then ran off to Columbia University, graduating later from Harvard, and were community organizers for most of their adult life. It was a one-of-a-kind find for the Democratic party, and they can’t find another guy like this in a million years.
The top guy for the Democrats in 2016 is Gov O’Malley of Maryland, who you should sit and figure up what he’s done with state politics there (gay marriage is legal, the Latinos have gained a number of benefits within the state, and unions are getting most of what they want).
THe Republican party is not getting my vote.
And this idea of America is gone. It’s over. Time to look out for yourselves.
There is only ONE solution to this problem and it is NOT peaceful. If Palin or anyone else thinks America will return to greatness any other way, they are only fooling themselves. When the bad guys control the ballot boxes with no legal recourse for the good guys, it is foolish of us to expect anything will revert back in our favor without physical conflict.
“Presidential politics in the post World War II era tends to be defined by the pendulum effect. “
Sure, and no president has ever won reelection with 8%+ unemployment, or whatever. Obama did. The RNC blew it bigtime and they are showing they are not going to change for the better. If anything, they are seemingly trending to the left even more.
“Cooling the Marks.”
That’s all these “optimistic” trash articles are.
The big thing the GOP did wrong was not defending their votes at the polls.
Votewise, Romney won the election by a sizeable margin, but he and his committee allowed the votes of many to be stolen by democrat thuggery. There is no sign that such will abate, short of civil war, and we all know how brave the GOP is...
“I think the hopes for conservatives may truly rise after 2020..”
You mean the Civil War which I’ve been praying for is arriving early?
Th Point has been reached where it is time to end the GOP since it is not a conservative party. The chance has passed for them to fight. Time to began a conservative Party USA. I am in the process of switching to unaffiliated. This dumb republican party won’t even fight voter fraud so what good is to to defend the party.

8 years? Is Chris Cillizza for real? Is there ANYONE who really believes this is an 8 year swing? Is this writer and the reading public so uninformed and/or unaware to be oblivious of all that has transpired since the mid 1960's? The last 20 years in particular have been utterly destructive to us as a people, the US Constitution and this nation. That includes Republican GW Bush. This is not some 'pendulum swing' by any stretch nor did all of this just happen in the last 4 years.
The GOP needs to support American companies.
Now.
American companies, hiring Americans.
I suspect deep down, Rove didn’t want Romney elected. If he’d been elected Rove couldn’t make money “grooming” another E-GOP RINO and SCREWING US AGAIN!
