Secession? Let THEM Secede.
Self | 11/17/12 | RightOnline

Posted on 11/17/2012 3:30:30 PM PST by RightOnline

Since the November 6, 2012 elections, resulting in significant Democrat Party gains (including keeping the White House), talk of secession has become rather serious.

Such talk has been around for years. Travel to Alaska (I admit it's been years since I have been there, but I've visited courtesy of Uncle Sam three times) and you'll see secessionist literature everywhere...diners, wherever people gather. To a lesser extent, this has been true in Texas, as well (lived there for years). Alaska and Texas are admittedly the two most independent-minded States in our nation.

Now....such talk isn't relegated to the pioneer-minded, two largest States. No fewer than 30 States have had citizens collecting, and submitting to an obscure White House-controlled Web site, petitions seeking peaceful secession. The numbers are growing; the anger and frustration are palpable.

I am sensing what divorce proceedings deem "irreconcilable differences" in our nation. Many have tried to define the "sides" in this: black and brown vs. white.....haves and have-nots.....makers and takers.....taxpayers and those who suck off of the taxpayers, ad infinitum.

Let's take yet another look at the electoral map, by county, from November 6th. As if anyone here isn't aware, red designates Republican majority (votes-wise), blue designates Democrat.

What does such a map really say about us, our country, our citizenry....and who's calling the shots in these elections? Look very closely.

I certainly do not claim to be a professional analyst of such things, but I will say here what this map screams to me.

Our country is now run by Democrat-run, large cities...on the coasts and in the upper-Midwest. Northern New England is a write-off (must be something about the cold). Let's now add what can clearly be seen, across the South, as what I will refer to here as "The Black Belt". Add to these the areas in the Southwest that are dominated by Hispanics and Native Americans.

The overwhelming majority of these counties across the U.S., setting the above aside, voted Republican.

I was chastised recently for referring to our current political situation as "tyranny of the few", with the offended party quoting electoral vote counts, etc.

I stand by it. It IS tyranny of the few, in easily identifiable places. Clear as a bell. These little pockets of blue hold huge numbers of people under Democrat rule, living off of red-Staters' largesse via Uncle Sam.

Secede? No.....we don't need to secede. We need to isolate these areas....politically. Economically? Not nearly so easy and, I submit, not quite as necessary....but it can be done to an extent that gets their attention.

Looking to build a business? Get out of those blue areas. Looking to vacation? Avoid those blue areas (many depend HEAVILY on tourism). Politically? Focus on hearts-and-minds campaigns where they may work.....particularly the Southwest (e.g. heavy Hispanic, Native American populations) and even rural blacks. Reach out to them; EDUCATE them on what a wonderful country we do still have. Give them something to support....something to vote for from this point forward. Appeal to their patriotism; their desire to better themselves and their families.....and most of all, to their faith.

These corrupt, Democrat-controlled sewers are dictating to the rest of us via sheer, concentrated numbers in highly compressed areas.

The military.....former military leaders, spec ops guys, etc.....are well aware of how to isolate such pockets of trouble and resistance. Let's learn from them; use their hard-earned experience and lessons to isolate our foes.

No, you don't move to a new country to avoid the cancer in your body. You fight it by isolating it, focusing on it, using chemotherapy or homeopathic treatments....anything to stop and reverse the cancerous growth.

Just my humble opinion, my FRiends....but I believe that is the answer, not the breaking up of what is still a great nation.

What about 1 vote per household.........

If hubbie and wifey both vote the same way, great. But if the they vote opposite - they cancel each other out. The household netted to no vote, an exercise in futility.

If there was 1 vote per household, the household could hash out how they wanted to vote.

Kids where parents still take a deduction for them (as in full-time students) - not a household.

Of course, one could get more selective and say households that pay taxes.

But perhaps I’m getting way ahead of myself !

Take over the media..

tall order I know. But the left has taken over the media and schools. Until we fix this, we’ll never win.

What about 1 vote per household.........

Married couples get 1 vote.

People who don't get married get two votes.

Can't think of a better way to ensure permanent Democratic dominance.

I don’t agree with what you are saying. Under the US constitvion we have a right to secede imo. The gou’t does not have the right to do certain things it has done. God has made a way of escape for us.

On average, blue states pay more to the federal government than they receive in services, while of course on average red states take in more than they pay out.

Do you have any sources for this? This is the first time I've heard of this phenomena

The media preaches to the choir. ‘Nuff said....and no, I’m not in the slightest discounting your point nor being flip towards you.

A fair amount of rope and a number of lampposts should do nicely.

They've had it coming for a loooong time.

People on welfare should not be able to vote. They just vote for more handouts.

If Texas secedes, this should be among the reforms.

I would rather just secede. Announce that we are establishing the kind of constitutional republic our founders intended and ALL government handouts would cease. Freedom loving productive people would flock in and the parasites would get outta Dodge in a hurry.

You can’t cut them out and target them as the author indicated. As long as there is a federal government that is willing and able to take whatever it wants from those of us who are productive in order to feed the parasites we will always be the losers. Secede and throw out the leeches.

"I’m saying to hell with those blue patches; make THEM ‘run’ away."

Why would they get out of their hammocks? They are in control. They've shown they can rig an election, so there is no stopping them without violence or secession.

You are 100% correct.

I live in a county where the city is run my the Bolsheviks and the county government is run by Republicans. Would seem that most places are like that.

Thing to to do isolate the cities...and let them starve for cash.

I discovered this morning 900,000 people have left The Peoples Republic of Illinois over the last 15 years. I am soon to be another one.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-09-19/blame-fdr-and-lbj-for-moocher-paradox-in-red-states.html

There are lots of sources if you look for them. The problem is that as you might expect most of those writing about this are liberal, so if you reference one here, it is automatically dismissed. Conservatives, for fairly obvious reasons, are a lot more likely to talk about the higher average giving to charity by conservatives, etc. The above reference is at least not Slate or Huffpo.

But it isn’t hard to track down the amount of federal taxes paid by each state versus the amount of federal money expended in each state for yourself.

Comparisons are subject to all sorts of games, of course. Do you count in federal expenditures for defense contracts, for instance? What about military payrolls? Bases, largely for climate reasons, are mostly located in the South.

Really? How many of those counties/precincts just voted for Obama without ONE vote for Romney? How many of those kind of counties totally invalidate the rest of the state?

As a Texan, we have a bit of history on this issue.

If we can keep ALL the revenue we generate at home, this could work. If we are already locked into all the energy , IT, ETC...revenue going to a corporate HQ in another state, this could be tough...

If we can rectify that,I think it could be doable, but I still have 1 concern....

We have issues securing the Mexican border.

What shall we do when the border is Mexico, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Arkansas?

No wrong answer, I am just posing the question.

God Bless TX

You are right about the blue states paying more in. One has to remember that the finance sectors and a lot of manufacturing is still in very blue state areas. Agriculture does not make nearly as much income per capita as the other sectors per capita.

Now, a lot of the manufacturing is moving to red states and this will change. Finance will likely be centered in the blue states for a long time.

However think about this in terms of production, not income. Wall street doesn’t produce anything (just income).

I think the red states need to focus on increasing their manufacturing capability, although this will be very tough in the current politcal climate and with the croney capitalism that places like detroit enjoy. However, if we have more manufacturing capability then if the fecal material hits the fan we will have more options.

Remember, in 1861 there wasn’t a single cannon foundry in the South.

I quite agree that taxes out versus payments in doesn’t capture the whole story of who is paying for what.

But does put at least a significant dent in the notion that red states are financially supporting the blue states.
