Big lizards scare Secret Service ahead of Obama's Thailand visit

BANGKOK, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Thai officials reassured the U.S. Secret Service that lizards found on the Government House grounds were not the dangerous komodo dragons, but water lizards.

Humorous article. I once saw a 'benign' water lizard in Malaysia rip apart a small dog. They are not as large as a komodo, but just as rovian.

No, Thai’s consider it bad luck if one visits your home. The thai word is ‘hia’. It’s a curse word when not used in reference to a lizard.

They eat small reptiles and mammals, fish, birds, carrion and even fruits.
Isn't the fruits category the one they should be concerned about?
