Former U.S. first lady Barbara Bush said on Thursday that she's ready to move beyond this year's campaign season, in comments that came at an Austin conference the week after President Barack Obama's re-election.
"I'm tired now of the elections," Bush, who had endorsed Republican Mitt Romney, said at a forum on America's first ladies. "People spoke. Move on, get on with it. I want to do other things and not to be ugly."
Bush, sporting a double strand of her signature pearls, joined former first lady Laura Bush on a panel for the Enduring Legacies of America's First Ladies conference at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library.
The first ladies avoided offering political opinions, but Barbara Bush did issue a stern warning to both Republicans and Democrats.
"They are going to have to compromise," said Barbara Bush, the wife of former President George H.W. Bush. "It's not a dirty word."

Her husband and son and the rest of their RINO friends bear a large measure of responsibility for our current state of affairs.

How true. Barb is just another political elitist who expects the “little people” to dutifully accept their condition as serfs and peons while her family and her “adopted son” BJ Clinton live comfortable government paid retirements.
That seems to be the biggest fear of the GOPe. Don't want to appear mean or anything. Hell, we can always get another America. Somewhere.
Stories of such hardihood ought to be shared around the time it comes time to vote. If they could wade a freezing river up to their chest, then surely any of us now who care at all, can go vote. Obama would have lost a truly representative plebiscite, but the Dems packed (if not more obscene things) the polls.
Working Man I think your post got accidentally yanked when I asked my own misformatted post to get pulled. You’ll have to mash up the mod and ask for it back. I quoted it all and obviously it offended nobody.
That would be my advice to the Bushes.
I might allow how Barb could have gotten caught out of context, but still, Barb. It sounds so matrician (feminine of patrician?) of you.
Geez, everything I wanted to say has already been said.
Another old globalist wanting to see the New World Order before they go time expired. I bet aged scum like David Rockefeller and Soros are salivating because the finish line is coming into view. I hope they all croak before they see what they’ve been working for come to pass.
Haha. One twinkie short of a full bladder.
Exactly right - bttt.
Don’t worry about it. 16 was a duplicate of my post at 14.
I asked the Mods to delete it because it was a duplicate.
I still remember Babs’ offensive comment.....”Sarah Palin likes Alaska and I wish she would stay there.”
Hey, Mrs. B., ask your son Jebbie to stay the hell away from the GOP primaries in 2016 and while you’re at it, kindly tell your grandson not to run for elected office in Texas or anywhere else.
The ruling elites have spoken.
Now, do you feel better?
Ugh. Why do we have to hear from dear ole Bar? Did all those illegal aliens let her talk to the reporters?
Babs seems to be suffering under the delusion that the peasants give a flying rat’s ass what she thinks.
Now THAT was a “meow.” Barb, your tail and whiskers are showing.
Elitists Say The Darn-est Things!
Barbara “Wormtongue” Bush. Figures.
