Im not perfect, St. Lucie County Elections Supervisor Gertrude Walker said Tuesday. Neither is my staff. Given the events of the past week, its hard to disagree. Because of her offices flawed handling of last weeks election, uncertainty hangs needlessly over Patrick Murphys stunning defeat of Rep. Allen West. Ms. Walker was stating the obvious when she admitted fallibility at a news conference, as reported by TCPalm.com. But when youre overseeing a congressional election whose margin of victory is less than 1 percent, there isnt much room for error.

“After partially recounting some of the early voting results on Sunday, her office discovered that it had double-counted the equivalent of 799 votes in the Murphy-West race and named the wrong winner in Fort Pierces mayoral race.”
Wait a second... why are the same people who screwed up the first count trusted to do the recount? Tbat’s insane.
Nothing Gertrude Walker touches is reliable.
Except in the recount there will be a lot more people watching the recount and the recount officials!
Maybe even a few Republicans watching-I bet a good number of tea party people will be there
Are you on board with calling for a full handcount of all votes down there in St Lucie???
<>Last night during a press conference, the Supervisor announced her office had determined that approximately 3,650 ballots were double-counted on election night, and approximately 1,950 ballots were not counted at all, with all ballots coming from the last three days of early voting which is what was retabulated on Sunday. However, if this information is accurate, the total vote in the county should have decreased by 1,700 votes after the Sunday retabulation. Instead the total votes cast declined by 799. It simply does not add up.<>

She might be on the verge of losing her “vote counter’s bonus” money if she recounts all of the ballots cast!
You’re heartless! ;D
Rallies are planned for all day today.
No fear, no shame, no remorse.
I travel to St. Lucie County every year in the winter, unless this election is reversed, I'll not stay there this year or ever.
There are many golf courses in Florida and I can spend my money elsewhere.
I'll admit it is only a small gesture but if 10% of the snowbirds stay elsewhere, maybe they will get the message, and I'll be sure to write a letter to the editor of the Ft. Pierce liberal rag and let them know they a couple of thousand Yankee dollars, and why.
When they messed with Allen West they messed with the wrong guy!
This is unreal. Too bad no one is looking into what they did with Obama votes.
They wanted badly to take Allen West down.
How dare he question his masters! How dare he succeed without the blessings of the Democrat party and liberal leftist affirmative action policies! (/sarcasm off)
This gang of democrats are so inept they can’t even cheat without screwing it up.
??? This is a far away the other topics we were on on the other thread, but the West election was a close one and he is the candidate so he should challenge these.
The Maine R Chairman wasnt calling for anything like this. He was just making excuses.
Also those Philly claims look bogus too, those districts voted against McCain too. They are heavily Dem and black and there was zero chance Romney would win there. No one would call for a recount there,
Where might we be if we'd been fighting effectively all along?
Wow! Electoral fraud provably reversed the outcome of an election! If Big Media were anything other than the propaganda arm of the demonicRat Party, this would be national news.
Apparently she and her staff are not capable of counting; "1, 2, 3, ..." without screwing it up.
Perhaps -- but the reports of blacks voting up in Maine counties may have been true -- just miscontrued. They were probably Somalis who had just moved up there and they stood out for obvious reasons.
According to this article there is a hearing scheduled today at 1 PM before a St. Lucie County Circuit Court judge.
ST. LUCIE COUNTY A St. Lucie County Circuit Court judge has scheduled a hearing at 1 p.m. today for U.S. Rep. Allen West’s latest St. Lucie challenge for an election recount.
I agree with tsowellfan's analysis of Somalis’s views towards American blacks on the other thread. I have seen that myself here with other African immigrants. Ironically both groups feel a kinship to O, but I think the immigrants do more.
