Just a few minutes ago on CNN, Pentagon correspondent Barbara Starr reported that a high-placed source informed her that former CIA Chief David Petraeus will use his upcoming testimony to amend his previous testimony. According to this source, Petraeus will tell the closed door congressional hearing that he knew "almost immediately" that the September 11 anniversary attack on our Libyan consulate was a terrorist attack committed by the al-Qaeda-linked militia Ansar Al Sharia.

Anybody consider the possibility that he resigned so he could tell the truth?
Yes, I did. Thought that now, since he’s lost almost everything, he can say what should be said. I do fear for his life, though.
can they really kill him the night before his is to testify?
What you describe could very well be the exact case. If it is, I hope he operates with honor from this point forward.
No evidence, just my opinion.
Several years before his death, I observed (first hand) an incident in which Adm Boorda’s actions clearly demonstrated that he was an independent sort who would choose to do the right thing even though it would and did PO a lot of people (i.e. this particular incident exposed a well-entrenched den of corruption). He had a reputation for this manner of integrity and action, but I didn’t pay it much mind, figured it was hype. Then I witnessed it for myself.
When he was selected as CNO, I was immediately curious as to how this type of man could slip into the Clinton regime undetected. Maybe Clinton wasn’t paying attention, or maybe the intent was to corrupt him. Or maybe the admiral really was just like everyone else in DC, but...? The Admiral Boorda I saw was one who had no fear of shining lights in dark places, no matter who was caught slinking around in the shadows.
Suffice it to say, he seemed like the last guy the Clintons would want around. And then came a supposed suicide. Over a strange circumstance of an improper medal. It didn’t make sense unless it was the one chink in the armor that the regime could exact a heavy price to “repair”. Crush the enemy by using his own moral code against him, something to that effect. Of course, the Clinton regime could make any normal rational person feel dishonored and depressed, so I suppose we’ll never know.
Will Candy Crowly correct him?
I kinda doubt it. More than likely just your run of the mill Washington ‘nepotism’ and cronyism. All those leaches up there live high on our dimes and we could probably do without 2/3 of them.
Of course, anything is possible when we are talking DC.
Yeah, when the meeting hasn't happened yet. ALL guesswork just like everyone else.
I am skeptical that Petraeus is going to come clean. In his resignation letter, he mentioned that Obama “graciously” accepted his resignation.
Perhaps Thanksgiving will come early this year!!

Statement by Secretary Clinton on the Attack in Benghazi
Press Statement
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of State
Washington, DC
September 11, 2012
I condemn in the strongest terms the attack on our mission in Benghazi today. As we work to secure our personnel and facilities, we have confirmed that one of our State Department officers was killed. We are heartbroken by this terrible loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and those who have suffered in this attack.
This evening, I called Libyan President Magariaf to coordinate additional support to protect Americans in Libya. President Magariaf expressed his condemnation and condolences and pledged his governments full cooperation.
Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is never any justification for violent acts of this kind.
In light of the events of today, the United States government is working with partner countries around the world to protect our personnel, our missions, and American citizens worldwide.
It was an intteligence briefing given by the head of the CIA. You don't think that was classified?
As for the rebuttal; sorry, but I place a great deal more faith in a NAMED SOURCE -- even if a 'Rat, when the GOP has had two months to call him a liar and hasn't done so -- than I do an unnamed source, who can say anything without fear of contradiction or reprisal.
Look at the 'Rat congressman's quote. He never really said that he was specifically speaking for Petraeus. The congressmen used the word "we". This is what ABC said that the congressman said...
It's twisted nonsense.
He hasn’t testified yet. Let’s see what happens.
He sure enough did. That’s funny.
He hasn’t testified yet. Let’s see what happens.
You are making him sound like clinton, draft dodger.
Do heroes work for Obama in the first place?
Perhaps he had the right mindset, that he was working for America. However, obama certainly would want to get his hands on a hero.
Greta just said that Jill Kelley says she had “breakfast” at the White House on September 24, 2012!!!
No, he is not. To you, obviously he is.
Yeah, when the meeting hasn't happened yet. ALL guesswork just like everyone else.
I should have been more clear. It was a Sep. 14th intelligence briefing given by Petraeus to the Congressional Intelligence Committee.
It would have been nice if he’d talked before the election, but taking Rice down with him is a good booby prize.
We’ll see what Petraeus has to say.
