NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -
A group of Wal-Mart workers are planning to stage a walkout next week on Black Friday, arguably the biggest holiday shopping day for the world's largest retail store.
The walkout builds on an October strike that started at a Wal-Mart in Los Angeles and spread to stores in 12 other cities. More than 100 workers joined in the October actions.
One of the workers who plans to join next week's walkout is William Fletcher, who works at a Wal-Mart in Duarte, Calif.

"Agenda journalism" - exactly.
"and spread to stores in 12 other cities. More than 100 workers joined in the October actions."
Wow, 100 useful idiots out of 2.2 million employees.

Baloney. Unions are NOT needed for Walmart. Sam Walton Jr. can go to hell for voting for Obama. I mena that. However, if folks don't like the company, then they can just go work elsewhere.

Only between 10 and 25 million people in line in front of them.
What could go wrong?
One more body of workers finds out what union leadership is actually worth.
Enjoy folks...

Got curious; there's no William Fletcher at the Duarte, CA store at the corner of Mountain and the 210 who is scheduled to work either Thursday or Friday.Maybe they fired him already. Not too bright to be announcing your intentions in the press. DUH.

Who does their Christmas shopping at Walmarts. All the WMs I been to it looks like the customers are on the very bottom of the 47% and service is terrible, crappy management and employees.

I'm not sure why they are staging a walk-out. I've heard because they have to work on Thanksgiving, have to come in to work in the wee hours of the morning Black Friday, or I don't know what else.

Can’t blame them for being pi$$ed off at that. Aren’t most grocery stores closed on Thanksgiving? If Americans can wait one freaking day to get food, why can’t they wait one day to start Christmas shopping.

Some of the practices of Walmart toward its employees is ridiculously dirty and has nothing to do with capitalism or the free market.....I don’t know what this strike is about and I’m certainly not a libtard but I wouldn’t mind a strike on Black Friday just to spook the Walton family and maybe it will save somebody from getting trampled under by these zombie shoppers that fight over a cheap $30 DVD player that won’t last over a year

Our WalMart is right beside the huge, former McMansion development [has its own zip code, it’s so big] that’s now Section 8 housing since the original owners’ mortgages went belly up.
You can’t imagine how miserable it is to shop there.
The massive welfare queens block the aisles to yap incessantly and will murder you if you dare to say “Excuse me, I’d like to get through, please”.
We call it WelfareMart.
Shopping there can get you killed, kidnapped or worse.

My wife who is as Assistant Manager at Wal-Mart says it is only a 10% discount off one shopping trip. Now that 10% off is on top of the 10% off which an employee already normally gets which adds up to the 20% off. And the extra percentage is only available two days, Dec. 6th and 7th. Still not bad if you plan your shopping around those two days.

Yeap, and we will make it there. Probably buy a bunch of dog food and such. Not bad for employees.
But walmart is evil, you know.
