Paula Broadwell was a rising star who seemed destined for a sparkling career in foreign policy. A West Point graduate who excelled in triathlons, she was pursuing a doctorate at Harvard University and had found a mentor in Gen. David H. Petraeus, an iconic U.S. military leader.
But in 2007, Broadwell was asked to leave the doctoral program at Harvard, where she had first met Petraeus a year earlier, because her course work didnt meet its demanding standards, according to people familiar with what happened there.

Roger that.
She should have claimed 1/32 Cherokee - it works at Harvard.
Unless she pulls more of a mess, I am done picking on her for what she did to the families involved. She screwed up in a very big way, playing a part in hurting our country, via the downfall of the General, too. So did the General in no way less than her.
None of us are perfect and any front that says otherwise, is most likely a lie. Adultery/a lack of sexual self control might not be our sin of choice, but we all struggle with our downfall in one way or another.
If she’s a Christian and she is truly sorry for what she did, she’s forgiven in the ultimate way - in the only way that counts. She did not commit a crime so we need to stop tearing her apart for the sin she committed. Unless anyone here is God.
She screwed up as a wife and mom. It’s been acknowledged by everyone as needed to happen for a bit. I’m letting it go now. Same with the antsy pants General in the adultery department. The sin of adultery (one of the big ten, for an obvious reason here) is between him and God now that it has been acknowledged by the people around him and affected by his sin. (That would be his family and the public because of his position.)
OK. That’s the LA Times, the Boston Globe, and now the Washington Post all going after Broadwell. Hmmmmmm.....if they’re all telling us to look at Broadwell, then that means we should be looking somewhere else. Kelley lawyered-up fast and she lawyered-up big. You don’t do that if you’re just a poor innocent girl receiving strange e-mails. Kelley and her sister owe a lot of money.
She’s a yet to be diagnosed psychiatric disorder, plain and simple. Krauthammer should be on the case.
When did she ever have time for her husband and children???
Not Cherokee...she was born in North Dakota. She should have said she was 1/32nd Sioux.
I’m uncertain if Harvard recognize people’s claims of 1/32 Sioux - I do know they recognize claims of 1/32 Cherokee...;)
West Point has a relatively high dropout rate. That may be because cadets aren't prepared for the discipline or because some cadets don't want to serve in the army (especially in wartime), but your dismissal isn't warranted.
When that happens it's usually time for me to get off the computer.
I am not at all impressed that she graduated from West Point, unless recent grads can assure me that women are held to ALL of the same demanding standards the men are.
I know enough about the US government and political correctness to assume that they bend over backwards at West Point to make sure female candidates don’t wash out. I bet she got do-overs and easy tests to boot.
So it doesn’t impress me that some skank got carried through West Point.
Thanks.
That was a thought I had too.
