The death of a journalists 11-month-old son in Gaza on Wednesday has prompted a flood of poignant messages online -- and a media backlash -- when pictures of Jihad Misharawi, a BBC Arabic video editor, showed him carrying the body of his dead son.
Mishrawis son, Omar, was killed after Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip fell on his Gaza home, according to the BBC.
Omar is among 16 people killed in Gaza since Wednesday afternoon, including four children, according to Al Arabiya correspondents. Fighting began when Israels targeted killing of Hamas military chief Ahmed Jaabari on Wednesday. Since then, Palestinian fighters have fired around rockets over the border.
The death of Mishrawis son at first prompted anger from online commentators and news blogging sites over the BBCs alleged lack of, or minimal, reporting on the killing.
When BBC ignores Israeli murder of its own cameramans baby, what hope for other Palestinians? an article on The Electronic Intifada blogger/ activist-based website questioned, alleging that the broadcaster totally ignored the killings on its Wednesday night news bulletin.

Read where a lot of those so-called deaths were faked.
I think you should start a new thread, using this picture and javascript, you could start an islamathon, just like the freepathon, only generating income for the poor anti-Israeli’s
Wait a second, this guy’s name is Jihad? I guess Suicide Bomber was too long a name. They could have called him SB for short. I’m sorry if a baby was killed. Stop lobbing rockets at Israel and this won’t happen.
I feel bad for the death of an innocent child.
But the Palestinians have poisoned the well and nothing they do or say can illicit sympathy in me, for their cause.
That’s what you cause in others when you prove you’re a malicious, violent liar.
Green helmet Guy retired. He walked the same dead child around for days to make sure every asshole reporter would get a photo and pubilicty. Then they blamed it on Marines who were charged and held in military prison. All charges were dropped when it came time for trial. There no evidence.
Keep lobbing rockets into Israel andeventually they will take out the entire middle east. It would be one helluva parking lot for Israel. Don’t expect one bit of help from US. Ibama has already said he doesn’t have time to talk with Israel. Hell, he didn’t have time for the dead AMERICANS in Bengahzi.
War is Hell, ain’t it? Why kick the hornet’s nest, Mr. Jihad?
one less to wack later... this is obviously staged and a fake. He not holding a body of a baby more like a big loaf of pork
Dead, one future terrorist bomber. You can kill him now or kill him later. Does anyone think the father hates Jews more now than he did last week? I don’t think so.
That’s too bad. Quit killing people and there won’t be a reason to retaliate.
why sad for the child ( which I doubt it is), they strap bombs on them for puberty celebrations and send them after Israelis
So sick of the Muslim posturing. At least the little babe won’t be subject to his father’s stupid religion. Stay out of Israel then!
Exactly.
When the suicide bombers were roaming Israel looking for a place to explode, they frequently chose groups of women and children. They walked into restaurants, coffee houses... kaboom.
Buses frequently used by children to return home from school were also favored targets. Timers were set to blow up at times when children would be present.
I’ll be shocked if anyone can find one call for the Arabs on the West Bank or Gaza to show restraint related to these attacks on the innocent.
Enough said. There have been plenty of Israeli dead. Why aren't their pictures getting wide media attention?
These monsters are known for faking photos for the “media” with faux outrage and whining.
