Fresh off winning election to the state Senate as a Brooklyn Democrat, Simcha Felder said Tuesday he planned to caucus with Republicans in Albany, further complicating a struggle for control of the chamber.
Felders decision to vote with the GOP conference was first reported by political blog Capital Tonight and was confirmed by his campaign spokesman. Felder, who represents an Orthodox Jewish district in southern Brooklyn, will give the Republicans 31 seats in the Senate, where a party needs 32 votes to elect a majority leader.
The Senate Democrats currently hold 30 seats in the chamber and are leading in two upstate races where vote counts have yet to be finalized, pending the counting of absentee ballots this week.

hmmmmmmmmmm.........
Hey! This is a BRILLIANT strategy!
Run as a Dem, spouting all the Dem lines, then turn and side with the Repubs!
This just may be a way to win the Senate back - and the White House!!!
Yep, I think one of the only ways, especially when we have 3 million “Republicans” who are “so pure” that they didn’t turn out to vote for Romney because he’s a “RINO” — I guess they think they taught us all a lesson — and they certainly did. Gave Obamao at least another two Supreme Court nominees in the process.
Time to let them stew in their self-righteousness and focus on going after conversion of the demonrats...
It’s the way the Dems always have won. Good tables are being turned.

I don’t think they care. They probably wanted the bennies all along but didn’t want to admit it. Perfect cover.
“Time to let them stew in their self-righteousness”
The GOP Establishment has sandbagged genuine conservatives election after election, foisted upon us candidates who can “win the moderates” such as McCain, Romney, Arlen Specter, Chris Christie, and Scott Brown, and caved to Democrats in Washington time and time again!
The self-righteousness belongs to the GOP Establishment - not grassroots conservatives. The GOP can go the way of the Whigs.
The time has come for a new party - a genuine conservative party.
Guess they had to teach us a lesson again since we didn’t get it when they taught us a lesson in ‘08.....the results weren’t bad enough, so they think we will learn from disaster/total collapse....
