President Barack Obama said Wednesday that he has seen no evidence that a scandal that led to the resignation of CIA Director David Petraeus harmed national security.
“I have no evidence at this point from what I’ve seen that classified information was disclosed that in any way would have had a negative impact on our national security,” Obama said at a White House briefing.
Petraeus, a decorated four-star general who received widespread praise for the surge strategy in Iraq, resigned as CIA director on Friday, citing an extramarital affair.
Numerous federal government officials have told NBC News that the married general had a relationship with his biographer, Paula Broadwell, 40, who authored “All In,” a book about Petraeus’ leadership philosophy.
Obama brushed aside questions about whether he felt he should have been notified sooner of the investigation of Petraeus.
“Obviously, there’s an ongoing investigation. I don’t want to comment on the specifics of the investigation, Obama said, “The FBI has its own protocols in terms of how they proceed. … I have a lot of confidence in the FBI.”

What? Our national security IS harmed by the Petraeus scandal because our President is using it to deflect away from his dereliction of duty in Benghazi resulting in the murder of four Americans. 0bama is harmful to our national security and I’d bet Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Ty Woods would’ve backed me up on that.
How would he know? His administration does not tell him anything, and they do not tell each other anything, and if they do say something, it is a lie so the other person can say that she was told this when she should have been told that.
And we’re supposed to believe anything this clown says?
He said subtly changing the subject.

There’s never any evidence of anything with Obama, except for evidence that he inherited a mess in ‘08, but no evidence that he inherited a mess in ‘12.

Exactly. The first thing I noticed when hearing a verbal clip on the radio was his use of, not just one, but TWO prepositional phrases to drive home his threat.
“I have no evidence ... *at this point* ... * from what I’ve seen* ... that classified information was disclosed...”
Obama, himself, is the national security threat.

Sounds like Petraeus has accepted Obama’s terms and will walk the official Obama line.
Uh, then why did the FBI say today they found classified data on Broadwell’s computer?
Coming from the same lying turd who said there was no evidence of a planned terrorist attack.
Too bad the hearing is behind closed doors.
Broadwell mentioned that there were jihadi prisoners being held at the Benghazi mission....something that the official timeline does not mention.She said this in a talk at a University and was filmed saying it....so Broadwell was in the Benghazi loop, and the Obama administration is shutting HER up.
There is a lot going on.But Obama failed to defend US soil,and 4 lives were unnecessarily lost.McCain intends to hang that on Obama , Susan Rice , and anyone else he can bring into range.Perhaps there is some good left in old John McCain yet, we will see.Lindsey Graham mourns Stevens, who was one of the Washington gay boys along with Lindsey, which explains his chagrin. These two are going to make Obama pay.
An admission that classified material was released, but in Barry’s expert opinion, no harm was done.
And all this from a man who regularly skips his security briefings.
I’m so relieved.
