An Egyptian jihad leader, with self-professed links to the Taliban, called for the “destruction of the Sphinx and the Giza Pyramids in Egypt,” drawing ties between the Egyptian relics and Buddha statues, local media reported this week.
Murgan Salem al-Gohary, an Islamist leader twice-sentenced under former President Hosni Mubarak for advocating violence, called on Muslims to remove such “idols.”
“All Muslims are charged with applying the teachings of Islam to remove such idols, as we did in Afghanistan when we destroyed the Buddha statues,” he said on Saturday during a television interview on an Egyptian private channel, widely watched by Egyptian and Arab audiences.
“God ordered Prophet Mohammed to destroy idols,” he added. “When I was with the Taliban we destroyed the statue of Buddha, something the government failed to do.”
His comments came a day after thousands of ultraconservative Islamists gathered in Tahrir Square to call for the strict application of Sharia law in the new constitution.
But in retaliation to Gohary’s remarks, the vice president of Tunisia’s Ennahda party, Sheikh Abdel Fattah Moro, called the live program and told Gohary that famous historic military commander Amr ibn al-Aas did not destroy statues when he conquered Egypt.

On the subject of Islam and destruction it seems like Grover Norquist, who is apparently pro Islam, has played a significant role in destroying the conservative push for the presidency. I must say, when I read this I was amazed and shocked. Anyone know more or if this is true??

Hi, I think Norquist has something of a CFR vibe about him. I think he is a secret globalist and not a true conservative. He always talks about taxation which is a subject that all Republicans and conservatives care about but he is not conservative about social issues particularly the threat of Islam. By the way, he is married to a Muslim woman.
If you watch him closely, you can see that he is always maneuvering to promote the *big tent* version of the Republican Party but lately he has done everything he can to alienate traditional conservatives by inviting libertarians, homosexuals and Muslims into the party. He knows that these groups are not acceptable to conservatives. It seems pretty obvious that what he is trying to do is push conservatives out of the party so that he will not have to deal with people of conscience. Norquist is just out for Norquist. He strikes me as being a soulless man.

What is CFR??
CFR stand for Council on Foreign Relations a globalist organization that is run by David Rockefeller and some of his billionare friends. The CFR was begun in the 1920s. It has pushed for a one world government since then. Rockefeller and his cronies were behind the creation of the United Nations in the late 1940s as well as the World Bank.
The CFR has always had a kind of political liason to the political world, it used to be David Rockefeller’s brother Nelson Rockefeller but he passed away some time ago so there has to be someone taking his place. I believe that Norquist is at least one of the liasons that have taken his place. The CFR is the natural home of the liberal Republicans.
