Kelley alerted the FBI about the emails that appeared to be an attempt to blackmail Petraeus, which started the investigation, said the sources, who are close friends of the Petraeuses.
In addition, the threatening emails might not have come from biographer Paula Broadwell, as widely reported.

Whaaaaa?
“Kelley, a Tampa, Fla. resident who is married with three children, and sister Natalie are close friends of the Petraeus’ and spent holidays together. AND SHE WAS NOT HAVING AN AFFAIR WITH THE RETIRED, FOUR-STAR ARMY GENERAL, SOURCES CLOSE TO THE FAMILY TELL FOX NEWS.”
Thanx. Glad we’ve cleared that up.
This whole thing stinks worse than a Turd in the White House! Not impling that there is one, but sure looking like it!
Beware of making friends with a celebrity. Look how you end up when that celebrity takes a fall.
Among other things.
Cantor staffers said they didn’t immediately tell the House Intelligence Committee or chamber leaders because they didn’t know whether the tip was credible. So they turned it over to the FBI.
To Cantor.
That is why you have committees and congressional oversight.
They are the ones that determine if tips are credible by putting people
Under oath. You failed in your leadership position.
I also think u r not be truthful about not telling Bonehead, your master.
“Kelley alerted the FBI about the emails that appeared to be an attempt to blackmail Petraeus, which started the investigation, said the sources, who are close friends of the Petraeuses.
“In addition, the threatening emails might not have come from biographer Paula Broadwell, as widely reported.”
Chicago???
Now “close friends of the Petraeuses” are counter-leaking!
Just who besides Petraeus and Broadwell would have a motive to try and shut Broadwell up?
“In addition, the threatening emails might not have come from biographer Paula Broadwell, as widely reported.”
Holy cow, this is the money line.
My understanding from reading this article, is that the tip came fairly recently via a whistle-blower after the FBI had already been investigating this for months.
Anyone wanting on or off this ping list, please advise.
Mesta ... are you holding up? Have noticed a change in your tone.
This is just all mere tabloidy irrelevancy, designed to further confound the public who after a certain point might
grow tired of the whole tragic Benghazi “mess”. This is merely a diversion which adds nothing to the real issues at hand. For anyone who wants a real overview, read the grest interview Greta vonSusteren did with Rep. Trey Gowdy. Gowdy
SAYS IT ALL.

My understanding is the tip came Two Weeks BEFORE the election.
Plenty of time to Put Betrayus under oath to determine if the affair was true
And if National Security was compromised. It is not Cantors responsibility
To determine if the tip was credible or not.
That’s what committees do. The fact he notified the FBI is good.
The fact he did not refer this to his committees is bad.
Was Dr. Kelley on Petaeus’ team when possibly treated at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa? Something is up here, ... and it may have not been Petraeus. :o/
Just asking...

The Florida woman who received harassing emails from Paula Broadwell, spurring an FBI probe that ultimately uncovered the Gen. David Petraeus extramarital affair with his biographer and led to his resignation as director of the CIA, has been identified as Jill Kelley, a local concerned citizen who volunteers to help the military.
We and our family have been friends with Gen. Petraeus and his family for over five years. We respect his and his familys privacy and want the same for us and our three children, Kelley said in a statement.
A close friend of Petraeus said Kelley and her husband, who are both civilians but supporters of the military community, befriended the Petraeus when the general was stationed in Florida.

(CNN) Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. military commander in the Middle East, has been treated for early stage prostate cancer and says recent screening tests have delivered very positive news.
Gen. David Petraeus was diagnosed with prostate cancer in February.
Gen. David Petraeus was diagnosed with prostate cancer in February.
He was diagnosed in February, his office said, and underwent two months of radiation treatment at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
My cancer was caught very early, Petraeus, 56, said in remarks released by his office. Ive had two PSA tests since completing treatment five months ago, and theyve both been very positive. Surgery to remove the prostate was not an option due to plates/screws that were used to repair my pelvis after it was fractured in a parachuting accident.
wiki:
On April 23, 2008, Secretary of Defense Gates announced that President Bush was nominating General Petraeus to command U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM), headquartered in Tampa, Florida.
Just trying to catch up between articles and freepmail. If it’s possible to get out of breath on a keyboard, I have just done it. LOL
Given the timing, he was probably busy running around Virginia campaigning. I’d guess nobody wanted to deal with it until “after.”
Fact one: Only the POTUS can issue a CBA to send a rescue mission into a foreign country.
Fact 2: No rescue mission was ever sent.
That said I am all for subpoenaing every single ass-kissing 0coward-loving commie scumbag involved in this and grilling them until there's nothing left but a little carbon crisp.
This is such a hugh and series surprise. NOT! I'll say one thing for the 0 administration, they sure know how to tangle things to the point it is almost impossible to untangle them...almost, but not completely. I hope to live long enough to learn the truth about this whole, sad episode. And I'm not talking about just an affair.
