Report: FBI whistle-blower contacted Eric Cantor on David Petraeus affair By: John Bresnahan and Jake Sherman November 11, 2012 12:16 AM EST
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor spoke to an FBI whistle-blower two weeks ago who accused then-CIA Director David Petraeus of having an extramarital affair and potentially jeopardizing the security of classified information, according to a news report.
Cantor’s chief of staff, Steve Stombres, later met with FBI officials to pass on the accusations from the whistle-blower, the New York Times reported on Saturday night.

Cantor’s involvement in the Petraeus scandal is the first indication that anyone outside of the FBI knew Petraeus was under scrutiny for an extramarital relationship or potentially leaking classified information.

“I was contacted by an F.B.I. employee concerned that sensitive, classified information may have been compromised and made certain [FBI] Director Mueller was aware of these serious allegations and the potential risk to our national security,” Cantor said in a statement.

Do you remember when FReepers were excoriating him for supporting the ridiculous ROEs in Afghanistan? Do you remember when FReepers were excoriating him for calling for sanctions against a FL pastor for burning a Koran and blaming him for the violence of jihadi nutcases?
The FBI is saying that they quickly found that there was no hacking. The question for them then is ‘why did you continue to investigate for six months?’ But that doesn’t obviate the point that they would have immediately informed the pres. when Petraeus’ name entered their investigation.

He's my congress-critter. You know something? I can still remember in 2008 thinking 'there is NO way we are going to have a president named Barack Hussein Obama'. Oops! In 2012, I'm thinking 'boy, are the American people going to be beyond stupid if they re-elect this disaster of a empty chair'. Oops again! IMO, up to the time the hoe was implanted, Petraus was a republican hero. Seeing this, and his possible candidacy, I think it was a set-up from the beginning.
Once caught in the web, Petraus was promoted to CIA and used as a tool.
How else could he have become so anti-Israel and pro-muslim?
Petraus was outted now, can’t wait to hear him singing in front of congress.

My first thought is that there have been serious allegations of Obama regime leaks and the general is set up to be the scape goat.

The news was overtaken almost immediately by the announcement that Gen. David Petraeus had resigned, purportedly due to an extramarital affair. He was slated to testify in closed-door hearings on Capitol Hill this coming week before the Senate and House intelligence committees. Petraeus no longer plans to testify.”
Hilary goes AWOL. The Director of the CIA is gassed. The alleged producer of the crazy mo movie is jailed. Who else is going to end up missing or dead before the House committee gets to do their job?
Why Cantor?
Involve Cantor to make him and R leadership complicit if he does not pass it to the FBI. If he does and as they did, FBI sits on it til post election anyway
Cantor has no way to know if charges are true so he can’t do much more
