Outgoing CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus’ resignation over an extramarital affair was reportedly held until after Tuesday’s election to avoid “potential embarrassment” for President Barack Obama, according to Newsmax.
FBI agents learned of the affair while monitoring Petraeus’ emails out of concern that the woman, Petraeus biographer Paula Broadwell, may have had access to his personal account, the Associated Press reported.
But an FBI source told Ronald Kessler, the author and journalist who broke the Secret Service prostitution scandal, that rather than having Petraeus resign immediately, the decision was made to hold it until after the election for political purposes:
[T]he White House, with concurrence by the FBI and Justice Department, held off on asking for Petraeus’ resignation until after the election. His resignation occurred three days after the election, avoiding the possibility that Obama’s ill-fated appointment of Petraeus could become an issue in the election.
FBI agents on the case were aware that such a decision had been made to hold off on forcing him out until after the election and were outraged.
“The decision was made to delay the resignation apparently to avoid potential embarrassment to the president before the election,” an FBI source says. “To leave him in such a sensitive position where he was vulnerable to potential blackmail for months compromised our security and is inexcusable.”

So, ... why did it suddenly become an issue requiring him to resign?

And that the New York Times reported that it was in Iranian airspace?
First part is true. Second part, I don't know. They did say that the Iranians claimed the drones were in Iranian airspace, but they have also reported consistently that it was in international airspace.

The timeline goes way back farther than 2 weeks ago. Everyone needs to check out the NewsMax article on this. I think 0zer0 set Petraeus up from day one and the FBI had to know about this affair in real time. According to the article, the FBI suspected the issue in the Spring 2011. Petraeus was commander in Afghanistan at that time. 0zer0 appointed Petraeus to CIA in April 2011, but he didn’t assume the office until Sep 2011.
The article says the FBI was investigating this for months because Petraeus was sending thousands of emails to her. That had to be in 2011. This means that the FBI had to know what was going on in real time, probably as Petraeus was being vetted for the CIA post, and certainly before he was confirmed, and that is why they couldn’t believe 0zer0 wouldn’t fire this guy, let alone hire the guy.
I don’t see any explanation other than 0zer0 knew about this (or someone high up in the admin did, and didn’t tell anyone... FBI director Mueller had to know, and that means Holder had to know, and probably National Security Director Donolon). That means 0zer0 had to know, and is lying about this when the WH says they first found out about it Wednesday after the election.
I bet 0zer0 knew Petraeus was compromised when he appointed him and counted on this trump card to be used against Petraeus when he needed it, and Benghazi is it. The timeline proves it.
Whether Petraeus has any smoking gun information and will spill it is completely unknown. But for me, I am convinced that 0zer0 knew about the affair and deliberately appointed and retained an obviously compromised CIA director to have something to blackmail him with later. This explains why a compromised CIA director was ok to appoint and retain for over a year, but now a year after the affair, is a liability only because Benghazi is hitting the fan. This confirms everything you need to know about 0zer0.
Who first told Obama and when did that occur? If before November 6, then it will be another fine mess for Obama.

Obama at his normal performance reminds me of Nixon at his worst. Nixon used the IRS not for collecting taxes but for political gain and for revenge against his enemies. Apparently, Obama has moved up to using the FBI, not for investigating crimes but for publicizing personal scandals. While I am disappointed in Petraeus, that is a personal disappointment over conduct that did not as far as we know affect his professional performance. As for Obama, he is an even more disgusting abuser of his power than I had guessed. I pray that America will survive another four years of pure evil in our White House. Our only blessing is that while Obama can be malignant, he is mostly just a petty thug.
Impossible that certain Republicans didn’t know about this. Shame on them for not talking.

It is now being reported that the FBI found no violations of the law. That would seem to say that Broadwell did not 'hack' Patraeus' e-mail account as rumored. It would also suggest that there was nothing classified or otherwise compromising of national security ever sent on that e-mail account.
That begs some other questions. Are the above assumptions true? Why did the FBI continue to monitor his e-mail for six months if nothing improper was initially found? What triggered that investigation? When was the POTUS first informed of that investigation?
I think he was fired because the CIA’s statement said that no orders to stand down came from there.....thus, pointing a finger at the WH.
Is that available on Blu-Ray?
Seems to me that Obama only put Petraeus in the CIA slot because he thought he had something on him damaging and could control him that way. The Chicago Way. I never understood Obama appointing him the CIA in the first place...now it makes sense. Petraeus knows where the bones are buried in more ways than just Benghazi. Hope he has excellent security.
Fox news reported that the FBI did not vett the General before his appointment. For some reason, the CIA vetted him.
That seemed obvious to me, when I saw it on the news. All of the bad news will now be coming out.
The MSM has a lot to answer for.
