Cabinet role for Mitt Romney would be a shrewd move
Boston Herald ^ | November 8, 2012 | Joe Battenfeld

President Obama’s post-election offer to sit down with vanquished GOP rival Mitt Romney has spurred talk of a possible White House role for Romney, a move that could help calm jitters on Wall Street and warm the partisan chill on Capitol Hill.

Romney is still licking his wounds from the devastating loss, and supporters say he’s more concerned now with being with family than working with Obama.

Well, Romney know his business better than I. Were it me, however, I would politely but firmly refuse any such offer. Obama has no intention of triangulating or embracing a more moderate course on domestic policy. I think it quite plain he will tack further to the left. At best, “reaching out” to Romney would be nothing more than a show move to appear centrist/bipartisan/etc. At worst, it would be a trap to make Romney a fall guy for any future economic failures.

I don't know much about him other than he was a Boston-area FOX reporter for a few years before moving onto this newspaper (which, FWIW, endorsed Romney).

I sincerely doubt he’d do it but if he did I’d lose *all* respect for him. He’d become another Colin Powell to me.But I think that he has far more class than to hang out with those psychopaths.

Exactly.I'd wager that Romney would understand that any offer that might be made to him is a setup. That's what psychopaths do.

The only reason Hussein would ever do anything like that would be to gloat. He hasn’t changed and has no intention of working with the GOP in any capacity.

Please tell me this is satire.

"President Obama’s post-election offer to sit down with vanquished GOP rival Mitt Romney"

We all know what happened when hillary, McCain (and possibly others)had that private meeting with bozo. Bozo cast a spell on them.

Mitt DO NOT have any private meetings with bozo.

Romney would prove he was not fit to be president, should he do that. Giving bipartisan cover for Obama’s socialist schemes would be inexcusable.

Right on the mark. Precisely what Obama would want Romney for. He most certainly isn’t going to take any advice from him.

American voters had a chance to put Romney in charge of fiscal issues. They chose Obama. Let Obama deal with it. Romney is a fool if he helps.

If Obama really wants to be BI-partisan, I hope he would offer something — like Sec of Treasury, or Sec of Commerce. If he did that — and a few other GOP members into his next cabinet, then I’ll believe it!!
