From the mayor who made owning an 18oz+ container of coke a summary offense, comes this:
In case anyone gets any ideas, the NYPD will be there to enforce counting skills:

Well, let the city raise taxes and let them pay for the mess. A week ago I was crying for them. Today, I say too bad. Be like New Orlaean and sit in your filth, just wait, the gov;mt will bail you out.
I’m not donating any money to your cause-let FEMA and the AM Red Cross help you.

How about if you have two cars, one with odd and the other with even? Logic fails when government tries to do things...

Thank you for your kind reply. We aren’t looking for a bailout, FEMA Is about as welcome in Staten Island as the KKK.
People are helping each other and spending their own money to aid their neighbors, so don’t waste you money sending it to the RC. Infrastructure being rebuilt is beyond most people’s ability, so they are looking to the companies they pay every month to repair it for them.

I realized my comment was a little over the top and tried to draw redefine it to reveal I actually do care. I don’t like to see people experiencing hardship.
My emphasis was that there are 47 million people without power (the election) and we’re all going to pay for that.
The whole nation is turning into a disaster zone.
See tag line...

That's exactly the issue. The job is enormous, thousands of buildings, subway stations, houses, switches, signals etc that need to be inspected. The out of state crews did help a great deal on line repair, but certification is going to have to be done locally by the same people responsible for any F’ups. Much as I hate bureaucracy, sometimes things need to go through the process, don’t need buildings with hundreds or thousands of people in them going up in flames in the middle of the night.

No problem, it's just life in Obama’s America. Kind of like brush fires in CA and OR because the greenies won't allow clearing of vegetation. A certain amount of the grief is unavoidable, but too much of it is also brought on ourselves.

Sure, that’d be easy for you. You probably know the alphabet, from A to ... what was that last letter again? Elitist!

During the 70’s my Dad’s job involved driving hundreds of miles per day. After the first gas shortage, when he bought a new car, he still kept his old car. The new car, and Mom’s car had even numbered plates, the old car had an odd numbered plate. He made darn sure all three cars had at least 3/4 of a full tank, at the end of each day, too.

Don’t care. They think they’re better than the rest of us. Let them rot.

That sort of happened in Mexico City. To combat the fog, they would only allow odd/even cars to drive on alternate days (I think Sundays were for all).
What happened was people bought hoopties — old beat up smog-belching gas-guzzlers for the other day. The smog problem got worse.

What IS the problem? This should be ‘green’ and Earth First nirvana. Gasoline and all fossil fuels are EVIL. Primitive living was better. Putting lights out one night for SYMBOLISM is nowhere near as good as actually living without electricity forever, right? No more nasty pollution from cars, no more carbon-footprint.
Please tell this To The Right of Rush Republican why ANYONE in the liberal N.E. is not reveling in the pure state of living that has been given them by their ‘messiah’?
Go to bed when the sun sets. Throw your chamberpot contents out of your highrise windows...experience the good old days you want to send the whole country back to——you morons.
