It’s always the legitimate functions of government that they threaten to cut if they don’t get a tax hike. Never the rest of the nonsense.

Someone should have the kahones to say, “OK, I date ya to start layoffs.” I think we need a “jerkass politician” with the kahones to tell the truth and be willing to do the things needed and not apologize for anything. In short, we need a President like Dr. House in “House.”

As usual politically conected dead ass “administrators” drawing six figure salaries for doing doodly squat use the cop on the beat as hostages for their greedy demands.
Happens everywhere where you have public service unions.

Dear Police Chief Fat Walrus:
The company, your employer, the City of Los Angeles, chooses not to submit to your threatening public safety.
Since there’s a budget problem, all officers will take a salary cut, and incoming hires get half the current obscene retirement benefits.
Unemployment in CA is fifteen percent. We can get great people for less than the six figures LAPD officers earn.
Problem solved.

Dear Police Chief Fat Walrus:
How about going back to impounding the cars of people without drivers licenses, which state law requires you to do yet you ignore? You could have a cut of THAT revenue since you’re so hard up.
On the other hand, never mind. Because you’re threatening public safety, you’re fired.

A Fantasy Mayor

The good news is that a sales tax is one of the most regressive forms of taxation there is.
I say "Go for it!" If I lived in LA I'd vote for the tax hike ... then move to Texas next week.

...police officers will be in danger of layoffs...
...he is already unable to hire 911 operators, custody officers and mechanics to repair squad cars.So what's the problem? If you lay off the cops, you won't NEED the squad cars. There's no point answering 911 calls when there's no one to respond. And without cops, no one will be arrested so who needs custody officers?
Problem solved.

Dear Kalifornia democrats... here is the solution to your needs. Hollywood thinks the rich need to pay higher taxes... jay z, beyonce, cameron diaz, barbara streisand, ron howard, rob reiner, cher, roseanne... tim robbins and all of the other lonney cloonies and johannsonesque siliconed bimbos... and have the studios and production companies pay them union scale... we love unions no? Then take everything that is left from their exorbitant salaries and thank them for paying “their fare share”.

I’m no math wizard but if you lay them off you don’t have to pay the salaries.
Problem solved.
Adding more police won’t get rid of crime in LA . Now that three strikes is gone expect more crime.

Less dogs shot and less houses swatted due to wrong information. Hey there is a bright side.
The tax increase is for the children right?
