AIDS activists called a requirement that porn performers wear condoms while filming a "referendum on the subject of safer sex."
But with almost all the votes tallied and Measure B winning passage, many in the adult film industry were wondering what's next for the industry and whether they must now take their business out of Los Angeles County.

GREAT...! Lets keep it fair by also requiring them at all bath houses.
PLEASE stay there....that area is polluted, let’s not share.
That’s what I say. However, this is just a step away from making all of their citizens wear condoms. What’s wrong with people wanting the government to control their sexual organs. Eventually the healthcare laws in this country will attempt total control of reproduction. It would not surprise me if we end up with sterilization and abortion as common practice to forcibly control birthrates and condoms for preventative measures against disease.
California will be the trial runs on these practices. The majority of the folks who live there don’t seem to mind all the government intervention and policing of sexual practices (Allowing nudity, homo marraige etc.)
Many kind souls in other locations will undoubtedly offer them a spare room to crash in while they’re getting resettled.
Kind of like allowing people to break the speed limit as long as they wear a seat belt.
This says all we need to know of the outright clown show that is California politics.
Just think, “Hollywood” is loosing a major part of the film industry! I can see it now, their final “film” will feature black condoms and women that all look like Nancy Pelosi.
This is where the rubber meets the road.
There goes the Money shot. The male talent won’t get paid anymore.
LOL! That there was a good one!
Condoms should be issued to all Democrats before they go into the voting booth.
There goes the Money shot.
And the argument might actually be a winner.
I REALLY needed a good laugh today, thank you for the post.
Reading the comments, I love the sense of humor here.
I hate to admit it, but if you have ever seen the movie Boogie Nights (great soundtrack!) you get a sense of the changes in the porn industry from film to video and how depraved and violent it is....and how it prays on using young teens for “talent”....
For once here is a gov’t regulation that works against a depraved industry. Freedom isn’t so free is it?
You are welcome FRiend. And I have not seen that movie... yet. :-)
If you look at it as an industry for a moment, it would probably be better for them to move north, to Oregon or Washington state. They are still very liberal up there, so would permit the industry to operate, but California is rapidly spiraling into an abyss for any business.
This also raises another point, in that the adult film industry is very closely related to the non-adult film industry. This means that it will send a very strong message to the non-adult film industry to bug out as well.
Interesting: if they went back to San Francisco it would be full circle from where Porn as we know it actually started over 40 years ago.
But what is the sense of this, besides “AIDS Activists”
flexing their political muscles? Since the outbreak of AIDS
the porn industry has been policing itself with compulsory AIDS screenings—if AIDS were to have made inroads there, considering that the whole industry is about sex and nothing but,and that partners rotate willynilly between many hundreds of different production entities, that whole industry would’ve been effectively wiped out sometime in the 80s. As far as I know there HAVE BEEN a handful of deaths and/or illnesses
ascribable to AIDS, but not much more.I suppose the use of condoms is “optional” in current Porn Productions, but it isn’t hard to figure why the “visuals” of having to show condoms in use would kill the whole voyeuristic “thrill” of watching sex acts pretty much the same way as having to use them “at home” for whatever reason kills most of the
intensity of the sexual experience.
