This is the last time I will be voting in a national election. I am in my 60's and have concluded that, if this is the kind of governing Americans want, they should have it...and all its consequences.
Sour grapes you say? Perhaps. But after four years of the most abysmally failed government with consistently high unemployment, 16 trillion dollars in national debt, downgrading of our bonds and monetary system with printing of dollars by the Fed, attacks against freedom of religion, a loss of American leadership in the world, class warfare, homosexuality embedded in our fabric, our nuclear family deconstructed by government policies, gun running to Mexico and lies about it before Congressional hearings, refusal to protect Americans serving in our embassies across the globe, an energy policy that has tripled the price of gasoline at the pump, a Justice Dept that treats people not according to an equal application of the law but according to politics, a politicized press that is derelict in adequately informing the people about its government, attacks against free markets and capitalism, and on and on and on...
If given all this, the American electorate is either too blind to see or thinks that this exemplifies good government, then have at it. Just count me out.
But, some day perhaps people will wake up. My guess is that it will be too late and things most cherished - civic values long held dear - will be gone forever.
In the meantime, this retiree will collect his pension and social security and together with savings watch those younger and smaller in number figure out how they will pay for all the 'government hand-outs' and supportive services the 'baby boomer' generation that is about to retire will require. All the time doing so without the tax revenue on the income they earned while working. They will have to figure out how they, a very much smaller cohort of taxpayers will make up the difference.
They will need to come up with some better ideas than one Barack Obama and his list of accomplishments from 2008 to present. Good luck but you won't be seeing me at the polls ever again. It's been a ride. Adios, Americanos.
“So, take a deep breath, thank God that you are still alive to enjoy another day, lick your wounds and move ahead with purpose.
Stay strong for all the Patriots who came before you, for the ones fighting today, and for those yet to come.”
Well said, Bob.
Sadly, I agree with you. Our votes have been watered down by both political parties who refused to enforce our immigration laws. Leaders in both parties have allowed this to happen.
Veritas2002. I feel for you. I just turned 70 and fought this election hard for Mitt. I totally agree with you. I’m done too. I will just age with my family and let others do what they want. It makes no difference to me.
I do want to say that Chris Turncoat (NJ) can go to hell.
And to all the young punks in this country, good luck trying to pay for your future, if you even have one.
Take care and God Bless you.

The dance and sing on TV watchers crowd has voted. The give me my free phone crowd has voted. The I voted for the ‘Nigerian’ because I’m one has voted.
All is well with those that wish to enclose Sharia Law into this country founded on Freedom. All is well with those that just want anyone speaking a truth different than that spoken by Obama, to shut up. All is well for those that have decided for you, how your doctor will take care of you. All is well for those that believe that you do not need to keep food in your house, defend your life from the thief, and do things for yourself.
No one is concerned with national security, or really understand what that term means. No one is concerned with the dignity of the nation. No one is concerned about where all the money is going to come from, because it comes from the government. No one is concerned about the dignity, valor, pride, and patriotism displayed by our military across the globe, because what are we fighting for, but Bush’s oil? No one is concerned that everything that made America what she was, prior to the ‘Nigerian’s’ first term.
So, with a sick heart, and all my 60 years of fond memories, and a remembrance of pride defending my country from what she now has become, I will remove myself from the saltbox, before I am arrested and tasered for disturbing the peace and spewing the language of hate.
All those ‘Nigerians’ can have and do what they think America is, to them. May they all, and this includes the head ‘Nigerian In Charge’, have children that are found sterile, so that their entire group shall be lessened, and the next group can, maybe, realize what happened.
“The people do not deserve the kind of loyalty and bravery they give.”
You’re right.
Why would anyone want to defend a people so fixated on a phoney “war on women” and on their below-the-belt recreational activities (and government-funded disposal of the results) that they would elect a president who holds the U.S. Constitution (and the sanctity of life) in contempt?
Obama gets done with the Supreme Court it will be the final straw
Hope the idiots who voted for him are going to enjoy the economic disaster that is coming
When the government can throw a man in jail for making a video and the MSM, the ACLU, and the majority of Americans says nothing, we are dead on arrival.
You assume we'll be on the side against radical Islam. The war with radical Islam has long been occurring under our noses. Last night, they won. With the number of muslims already in our government there is good reason to believe those appoinments with increase rapidly in the coming months. Just wait until the next two SCOTUS openings to go to muslims. Watch for the east and west coasts to consider sharia law in court cases for muslims.
That is the best line of the day for me and worth remembering. Thank You.
I’m 20 years younger and I’m done.
Buffalo Bob, beautifully written post. We can’t give up for the sake of our children and grandchildren. I also love the point another poster made about watching where our money is spent. No more spent by me for Hollywood liberals in movie attendance. I will shop at Lowes, not Home Depot, as I think their management is more conservative. Chick Fil A will get any $ I spend on fast food. We can hurt these uber liberal companies where it hurts. I am more determined to do what I can to turn this country around, not less.
I am with you. my husband and I are in our 40’s also and its so dispairing. we had such a small time in the work force where the economy was booming. too little time to save money and stockpile for retirement...whats left of our moneymaking years isn’t looking good at all...how do we retire? how do we survive with this economy?
I’m a lot older than you and even though I am severely depressed this morning, I will always vote, even to the point of voting in every piddly little election. It’s all I have left but it’s still my right.
No nation that loses its moral compass survives. We are in the midst of America’s moral compass being lost. I can’t see anything positive going forward...
I’m 55 and threw away my voting card this morning. I’m done.
Keep going for what reason? To nominate another weak Rino? I’m 55 and this was my last election.
I, too, turned 70 this last summer. Even if I survive to 2016, I’m afraid I won’t see another election. The stage is now set for the installation of a president-for-life. With a packed Supreme Court of uber-liberals, we can look for repeals of the II and XXII amendments.
You keep going. Take care of you and yours. Keep your funds for you and yours. To the extent that you can, of course. Let your charity be for you and yours.
To the extent that you can, don’t directly support the admin or it’s goals or it’s voters, at all. You probably already have such a policy.
Let those that want to depend on the Obama admin, do so. When they need some charity, tell them to get it from the gov’t. Explain to them that it’s free, so there’s no need for you to reach into your own pocket. :-)
