This is the last time I will be voting in a national election. I am in my 60's and have concluded that, if this is the kind of governing Americans want, they should have it...and all its consequences.
Sour grapes you say? Perhaps. But after four years of the most abysmally failed government with consistently high unemployment, 16 trillion dollars in national debt, downgrading of our bonds and monetary system with printing of dollars by the Fed, attacks against freedom of religion, a loss of American leadership in the world, class warfare, homosexuality embedded in our fabric, our nuclear family deconstructed by government policies, gun running to Mexico and lies about it before Congressional hearings, refusal to protect Americans serving in our embassies across the globe, an energy policy that has tripled the price of gasoline at the pump, a Justice Dept that treats people not according to an equal application of the law but according to politics, a politicized press that is derelict in adequately informing the people about its government, attacks against free markets and capitalism, and on and on and on...
If given all this, the American electorate is either too blind to see or thinks that this exemplifies good government, then have at it. Just count me out.
But, some day perhaps people will wake up. My guess is that it will be too late and things most cherished - civic values long held dear - will be gone forever.
In the meantime, this retiree will collect his pension and social security and together with savings watch those younger and smaller in number figure out how they will pay for all the 'government hand-outs' and supportive services the 'baby boomer' generation that is about to retire will require. All the time doing so without the tax revenue on the income they earned while working. They will have to figure out how they, a very much smaller cohort of taxpayers will make up the difference.
They will need to come up with some better ideas than one Barack Obama and his list of accomplishments from 2008 to present. Good luck but you won't be seeing me at the polls ever again. It's been a ride. Adios, Americanos.
You’re still young! We need you and your vote.
Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters. (Benjamin Franklin)
You can’t go yet. Look!

This morning I am on the same page as you. If this is what the United States of America want then so be it. I will put my energies into my faith in God and Family. I don’t recognize my Country any longer and am mourning Her being lost, probably forever this day.
His screen says it all. I’m sitting here this AM trying to figure out how I feel and he posts this. It’s ME! Down to pension, SS and savings and I could have written this. He speaks truth.
Giving up already! Come on get real. So Odumbo won get tough. Now is the time to be strong! Giving up is for sissies and wannabes. Look at the whole picture Executive Branch democrat, Legislative branch is divided at the house and senate level. Odumbo owns whatever happens. So stop crying and start fighting. The time is now to get tough. Semper FI
America’s biggest problem isn’t fiscal decay; it’s moral decay. We’ve institutionalized child sacrifice, infidelity, homosexuality, indolence and irreverence. America won’t be blessed as it was until it changes. And that won’t happen unless it suffers and wakes up.
Never give up.
the Balkanization of the “United” States....it’s here, and it’s over.
One thing to consider - the hyperinflation financial wipeout in our future will likely happen on barry’s watch. After that, democrats won’t be electable for at least two generations.
Amen. Let the youth reap what they have sown...'social justice', you little SOB's...enjoy it.
“Youre still young! We need you and your vote.”
for what? republicans and more debt, higher taxes, and more regulation, and less freedom, or the democrats and even more debt, even higher taxes, even more regulation, and even less freedom.
You may be confusing the difficult with the impossible. It would take an extraordinarily wise and skilled candidate, but it is possible to convince people that they cannot keep expecting free stuff from the government and expect a healthy economy. I hope that, if such a candidate emerges, you will vote for him, because he will need every vote that he can get.
He's a good man. You are both in my prayers.
It’s no longer the “United States” it is now “The State”
“One thing to consider - the hyperinflation financial wipeout in our future will likely happen on barrys watch. After that, democrats wont be electable for at least two generations.”
Why not? Roosevelt and the Dems were re-elected three times during the great depression.
That is what I’ve been posting. He will not be able to blame it on Bush. We are on the edge of the fiscal cliff.
We may have just had the last election anyway. The next time we want hope and change we will have to vote from the roof tops.
My Grandfather told me that every other person you meet on the street are morons. I am now totally convinced of that assessment. I have nothing in common with over half the people in the United States.
