The Republican party has put forth candidate after candidate who is a moderate appeaser. How's that been workin' out for ya?
It is time to run a true conservative.
The GOP keeps telling us that we will split the vote and lose if we run a third party candidate. Well, we didn't and we lost anyway.
I'd rather go down fighting, than go down appeasing.
Worse, while the Tea Party, at least in OH , organized early, it has not ever come to terms with how old (and, overall, white) it is. The age thing is massive because despite the commitment of our regular Tea Party faithful, the movement is seriously lacking in energy and vision. That is its challenge---to broaden the appeal of its principles, not change them. It won't be easy. And maybe the time isn't right.
>>The freeloaders dominate the electorate.
True. Changing that is a big task.
When the poor get poorer, will they notice?
IDIOT!
It is just pure delusional fantasy to think that a majority in this country would elect a Tea Party style presidential candidate. The votes just are not there.
In otherwords, you want to wait so that you can bitch about it, I am sorry I am angry this morning, it is nothing personal.
I find it hard to believe that fewer people voted for Romney than for McCain. The Romney enthusiasm this year was far, far greater than the lukewarm McCain attitude in ‘08. I was not a Romney fan in the primaries, but supported him fully as a candidate. I know many people with the same attitude. I also saw a drop in enthusiasm for 0bama since ‘08.
I am not living in a conservative echo chamber. I know huge numbers of liberals and the enthusiasm for 0bama was not there.
So the numbers are difficult to believe.
And I no longer give a damn.
To many citizens have decided that a free phone trumps the welfare of their country.
“When the poor get poorer, will they notice?”
They won’t care, as long as everyone else is poor too.
I have been a registered Republican for over 50 years.
The Tea Party now has my loyalty if they can find some truly Conservative candidates.
The parasites are now running the USA.
That won’t last very long, but I don’t have time to wait.
We have a president who won’t watch their back.
But he has ensured that there will now be loathsome people in the military that will take lecherous interest in their backsides.
**
I shudder to think what will become of our military. It will merely be a socialistic petri dish of experimentation for the Left. No one in their right mind would want to be part of it.
And that leaves America ..... like one big gigantic doof with a target on its back.
>>Government must spectacularly fail to deliver all the goodies to a large enough segment of the population for folks to come to believe in the limits of government - the hard way.
0bamaCsre Tax will soon kick in. Income tax rates are about to go up.
Seniors are losing Medicare benefits.
Sandy response was not exactly a rousing success.
I think people will start noticing soon.
I am so sympathetic. I wish I could tell you it can get better. I hope and pray it will, but I can’t predict the future.
I can only thank you for fighting the good fight for so long. God Bless you.
Well being a liberal republican won’t work either. i’m all for conservative candidates who are principled conservatives but the country is no longer with us. The fake conservatives use the base to get power then get to DC and pass the same left wing policies and big government programs as the Dems.
I was just saying I don’t wanna hear from Rush and Levin that the country is still basically a conservative country. Um no it’s not. In some areas, yes, but even the white working class have given into gay marriage, tax payer abortion, higher taxes, and bailing out big corporations.
>>We lost because we now have over 50% on the dole and will vote with the LIBS.
It is as simple as that.
True.
Plus we also have the rich and middle class lib “sympathy for the poor” vote. We also have the middle class lib “hate the rich” vote. And apparently we still have the “white guilt” vote.
I am hoping that the 50% will become even lazier and more complacent and stop voting. A small glimmer of hope, I know.
I had a different experience.
I didn’t make calls (hate them) but I went door to door. A mixed bag, but I had so many people thank me. This included many seniors, many first time voters, several Hispanics. And I am in a liberal area, so the enthusiasm was refreshing.
De Tocqueville was right!
Agree wholeheartedly.
Sad that we have come to this.
>> Keep up the good fight. It has just begun.
We need to mourn our loss, then pick ourselves up and attack with renewed purpose.
Agree. Are we delusional? Out of touch with reality? Conspiracy nuts?
Maybe.
But I am having trouble reconciling what I’ve seen and heard with what is being reported.
If you drop an object, even a monkey or a baby expects it to fall down and land on the ground. If it doesn’t, they react with surprise and even shock. The election results are like that.
Agreed. It is “unbelievable” - I mean it literally.
