Thank You Libertarians

Posted on 11/06/2012 9:24:31 PM PST by TheArizona

It would seem our libertarian friends pretty much handed the election to Obama. Couple that with vote fraud and hello 4 more years of communism/nazism.

But you all can take comfort knowing you voted your conscience and your vote counted... For Obama...

Sarc, I hope

Romney should have blew him away regardless.

It is a Romney failure and a failure for the Republicans to realize that they can’t win against a liberal candidate with a moderate.

The republican party needs disbanded.

Thank you lovers of empire, Dominionists and drug warriors, AKA Jackboot lickers. Get back to fiscal conservatism and away from the theocracy and maybe they will come back.

The “Third Party Candidate Cost Us The Election” is just silly Liberal RINO nonsense

Someone that got .3% of the vote did not cost the GOP the election. Eschewing the base for PhonyCon ideas cost the election

I agree. What is the most important objective? Defeat 0bama? Or maintain some kind of political purity? Libertarians made their choice. So no more complaining about 0bama. You got what you voted for.

“It is a Romney failure and a failure for the Republicans to realize that they can’t win against a liberal candidate with a moderate.”

It is true he just couldn’t make a solid case against Obamacare when he had to defend Romneycare. But I think in the end, debates don’t really matter and people just want their goodies.

It is a Romney failure and a failure for the Republicans to realize that they can’t win against a liberal candidate with a moderate.

Indeed; in real terms 'moderate' means "doesn't stand for anything."
Any candidate who actually stood for something good, say Ron Paul, would have had it... but, no, we have to blame voters for not voting the way we want. (After all, no opinion is valid unless it matches ours.) [/sarc]

The republican party needs disbanded.

Indeed; it does a good job talking about things... but when was the last time it actually pursued it's stated goals? A political party that doesn't pursue its goals is worthless.

The establishment Republicans just can’t figure out that you don’t win national elections by running moderate to liberal milquetoasts.

Well we would have been better off if a real conservative were nominated, in fairness Romney did a better job than I thought he would.

As one person pointed out the much reviled O’Donnell did better in De than the 3 RINOS running statewide there this year.

Run conservatives, although it may be too late for this country.

The Reagan coalition is in shambles, and that’s our fault. Demographics shifted too much, and the left has controlled the media and academia for too long.

We frittered away our power when we had a real chance to stem the tide. The center is shifting leftwards.

The central issue from my perspective is that the GOP isn’t serious about fiscal conservatism. They give lip-service to it every four years, and then the rest of the time, the GOP lives their political lives like a bunch of drunks in a whorehouse.

They claim that there will be NO cuts to defense. Really? There’s nothing in the DOD budget that is waste? Really? That’s hard to imagine. There’s waste EVERYWHERE in the federal budget. I could find $10Bof waste in every cabinet-level agency in the US government in one day. It wouldn’t be difficult to start offering real spending cuts.

But the GOP doesn’t, and hasn’t since 1994.

That the GOP can’t find one thing inside the DOD to cut means that they’re morons, plain and simple, and they’re not believable as fiscal hawks.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: There should be no such thing as the Libertarian Party. The GOP should be the home of libertarianism in this country. The Republican Party was once the party of personal freedom and personal responsibility. Not anymore. Now they're just the bankers for socialists like Obama. They don't care how much the big government give-aways cost or how much of our liberties are lost so long as the books are balanced.

Republicans have only themselves to blame for votes lost to the LP.

I have to agree with you there. Enough with meddling in people’s personal lives and let’s focus on the economy and economic freedom please.

Before you go blaming Gary Johnson for our woes you should make sure you haven't been making a point of chastising libertarians away from the fold and also you should check to make sure all of the registered Republicans voted. For example in Ohio looks like a healthy quantity of R's stayed home. It seems tempting to blame the slim margin of loss on the slim margin of libertarians but if (a) Republicans gave them nothing to vote for and (b) enough Republicans stayed home then it follows that Republicans have only Republicans to blame.

At this point lashing out at potential allies (they must be such or you wouldn't blame them for the situation) is very much a losing proposition.

Sorry, AZ, but the blame lies squarely with the GOPe.

Nice try, though.

How about blaming the roughly 51% of Americans who are the parasites, the suckers, the race baiters, the stupid, the pep-rally addled "my team won" effing idiots who just voted away their birthright for a mass of pottage?

Oh no, it is way too easy to blame a small group of people who voted their conscience.

Stuff it where the sun doesn't shine.
