An individual by the name of Andrew Gail Holmes voted early in Sampson County, North Carolina, and then appeared at their precinct today to vote again, according to the staff director of the Sampson County Board of Elections, Donna Mashburn.
We have a gentleman who had early voted, Mashburn told me this morning, and went to his precinct to vote. We are aware of it. We will handle the issue at canvassing.
Canvassing takes place on November 16. At that point, the three-member board meets and will assess the attempted double vote along with other issues that arose during the election. The board will examine the evidence and could rule that charges are warranted. If they so rule, they will turn the case over to the district attorney to file charges. The three members of the board are two Democrats and one Republican, as determined by the previous gubernatorial election. North Carolina Gov. Bev Purdue, a Democrat, was elected in 2008 but is not seeking re-election.
According to state voter registration records, Andrew Gail Holmes has been a registered Democrat since 1982. Holmes is also identified in the records as a black female. Mashburn said that she identified the persons gender on the basis of the first name Andrew and was not an eye witness to the attempted double vote.
Holmes is not the first North Carolina voter to allegedly attempt voter fraud this year. According to the Examiner, Pin Knoll Shores retiree Jim Turner is under investigation for allegedly voting multiple times in multiple places.
I have voted once in Beaufort, once in Henderson, twice in Emerald Isle and will vote in my precinct in PKS, he wrote on Facebook. The message was deleted, but not before being spotted by bloggers and conservatives on Twitter.
Sampson County is in east central North Carolina. John McCain won Sampson County in 2008, 54% to 45%, over Barack Obama.
When a Republican ATTEMPTED to vote twice last week, the FBI handcuffed her and perp walked her to jail in front of press.
Just sayin’.

Undermining the integrity of our elections amounts to treason, in my view, and should be prosecuted and punished as such.
Unless this is prosecuted vigorously, this will continue as a way-of-life for Democrats.
Hang the treasonous bastards!!!!...........
Nov. 16th is not soon enough. You knew about it so why didn’t you call the cops and have him carted off in full view of everyone in line?
If this country really cared about itself, this sort of thing would be taken seriously and the person would be in jail. Instead, voting is now a joke. Register at Motor Vehicles. Register the same day. No ID needed, just show a utility bill. Big joke.
Chop him in two. Then he can have two votes. \Solomon
Given how NC is infested with liberal New Englanders fleeing their socialist utopias, I wouldn’t be surprised if these two are transplants with a union background thinking what they can get away with in the Banana Republic States of New England they can do in NC.
“Undermining the integrity of our elections amounts to treason, in my view, and should be prosecuted and punished as such.”
I totally agree.
Agree.

Come on now, Constitutional rights are for everybody. ;-) Beyond that, I suggest you walk a 16 hour (or longer) day in the shoes of a precinct poll worker before you judge. It’s basically a thankless volunteer job, which is why polls are usually staffed by retired people. There’s no incentive to get into a phyical altercation and get hurt. Due process exists.
We don’t really know that she attempted to vote twice. All we know is that her name was used once before. She insisted she had not voted, and insisted on voting. There have been reports today of people having to cast provisional votes, as someone had already voted using their name.
“Due process exists.” ... Niot with the criminal bastard Holder running the unJustice department!

I like the simple indelible ink purple finger they came up with for the Iraqi elections. Cheap, simple, effective. Fraud goes away.
End early voting ! All should show up on the Constitutional election day ; otherwise by standard absentee ballot, with a signed affidavit that the voter cannot for a legitimate reason get to their polling place on election day.
