Post your Florida voting observations here!!!
We're also interested in Freeper ovservations of predominantly dem districs in Miami/Dade and Sarasota.
Ft. Walton Beach: Went by my polling place (Presbyterian Church on South Avenue) on way to work to see if I could get in quick. LINE WAS OUT THE DOOR AND ACROSS THE PARKING LOT!......
More Republican driven than Democrat here in central Florida, but I waited in line for 60 minutes this morning at the opening. After voting, the line was just as long behind me.
In speaking with the poll supervisor, she shared that they don’t close the polls at 7pm, they cut the line at 7pm and allow those in line to vote. Just F.Y.I.
I voted here in Alabama - 2 hours from FWB - and the parking lot was jammed and the line was wrapped around the parking lot - nothing like four years ago.
Please also include any relevant information about the political breakdown of your area!
we’re going out later, we live in one of the most republican counties in FL, called St Johns county St Augustine.
Wife is out in Ponte edra, a very republican area and she said she has never seen lines what she is seeing, she went by 3 polling stations and all have lines going around the parking lot.
It;s a very republican area in a very republican county so now we’ll be out in about an hour to vote and we’ll update about our polling station.
Ponte Vedra St Johns county I meant.
Just got a call and the wife said precints are still having long lines
We cannot expect the Americans to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of Socialism until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism.

It’s not an observation, just advice for all Floridians...don’t allow what happened in 2000 to happen this year. That is,if See BS calls the state for Osama Obama at,say,8:05 (Eastern) don’t you folks in the Panhandle leave the line or stay home thinking all is lost.Your polls stay open until *9PM* Eastern. And that applies, nationwide. If MSLDS declares Osama to have been reelected at,say,8:30 (Eastern)....crawl over broken glass to get to the polls in the other time zones. You just never know what might happen!
South Tampa Bay area - GOP suburb. Crowded polling place, good spirits.
Voted this morning in West Palm Beach, Florida.(heavily democratic)
My precinct has slightly more registered republicans than democrats. In 2008 Barack won my precinct by about 12% in 2004 Kerry won the precinct by about 5%.
Wait time was about 35 minutes to vote. I did not live in the precinct in 2008 so I cannot compare to 2008, but the crowd was overwhelmingly white and over 40.
North Pinellas county approx. 100 people out the door at 6:45 this morning, waiting for the polls to open.
I’ll be working my district polling place today from 4 til close. We’ve been told to expect large crowds.
Ooops,typo...that’s MSLSD.No Mormon attacks from *me*!
Report from a central FL red area outside Orlando. Normally vote in AM before work and never much of a line. Today it was a line that streched halfway to key west.
Will try midday when most Mitt voters are at work and hope its shorter.
Poll watching in a heavy rat precinct . Lines are starting to lighten already. Almost no o gear worn by voters.
Jacksonville, 14th precinct.
Voting is toally jacked up. Has always been split into two equal volume rooms. Today, the predominantly Democrat area was given an entire room, while the predominantly Republican areas were combined.
I voted early, but my wife was livid that the Dems had no wait to vote and the Republicans were waiting 2 hours.
Florida has a very long ballot this election, so it is difficult to compare the lines this year from previous elections. Sorry to say that. I just voted in a predominately Democrat precinct, and it took about an hour, and I got there when the polls opened. Not sure what that really means.
I am here in blue Alachua county. Was cold and rainy but the line was out the door almost to the parking lot. The composition of the crowd was quite different than four years ago. Much less minorities and the under 23 demographic.
