CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Legendary performer Stevie Wonder this morning expressed his love for Cleveland during a get-out-the-vote rally at Cleveland State University.
His love went largely unrequited.
Fewer than 200 people showed up to watch Wonder perform a handful of his hits at the early voting event in support of President Barack Obama.

LOL...is Ohio really lost for Romney? He and Ryan are pulling in enormous crowds across Ohio. Meanwhile, Bambi gets 4,000 today in Cleveland whereas four years ago he got 80,000. And only 200 curious passersby show up at a Stevie Wonder GOTV “rally.”
The tingle is really gone.
This is the sign of a losing campaign.
geez, even I would have gone to see stevie wonder, then take $20 out of the hat they’re passing around
LOL! You’re bad.
Hit the road Barrack, and dont you come back

Ray Charles - Hit The Road Jack (Original)
"...No one came from miles around and said Man your music is really hot..."
"...No one came for miles around And said man your music is really funky..."
"...No one came from miles around And said man who's he?..."
Some other appropriate lyrics in between
That’s OK, he didn’t notice.
Meanwhile Romney packed Denvers Red Rocks which holds nearly 10,000 and it way out in the boonies.
Stevie Wonder? Hey, 1984 called...
I see it was a Little Stevie Wonder concert.
25 years since a single made the Top 40.
Subtle. Very good. I like that.
“Who is that fat blind guy”?

An Everly Brothers lyric comes to mind: “I wonder if I care as much, as I did before?”
“Meanwhile Romney packed Denvers Red Rocks which holds nearly 10,000 and it way out in the boonies.”
My uncle who went to U2 at Red Rocks many years ago (yes, that album) told me it is hard to fill up Red Rocks. I saw the Denver Post vid story and it was incredible how it was standing room only.
I don’t appreciate his politics, but I do appreciate the artist and the music of my school years. The crowd was more a reflection on Obama than Stevie.
It is very difficult to seperate the partisan spin out of the media coverage and their polling. We are so immersed in it that it often becomes difficult to believe your own eyes when you see the crowd sizes and enthusiasm gap.
I am cautiously optimistic.
The blind leading the blind.
Dearest Barry,
I Just Called To Say I Love You.
You know, other than because they tell me youre black,
I Don’t Know Why (I Love You)
But
Lately
I have to Wonder if you really care for this country, or youre just a
Part Time Lover.
At one time, I thought
You and I (We Can Conquer the World)
But maybe you aimed a bit
Too High
there. If you really look at it, could it be that
You Haven’t Done Nothin’ ?
Or is that just a nasty
Superstition
put out by the Right-wing Media? I guess I have some trouble seeing the truth
Anyway, as always I wish you all the best!
Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours
-Stevie
Shucks...and it was a nice day, too.
