Detroit, Nov. 3 [35 minutes ago] (UPI) - A Chrysler executive has apologized for his language but stands by a tweet calling out Donald Trump for saying U.S. Jeep production is moving to China.
Ralph Gilles, Chrysler Group LLC vice president for product design, was responding to a Trump online posting that said "(President Barack) Obama is a terrible negotiator. He bails out Chrysler and now Chrysler wants to send all Jeep manufacturing to China -- and will!"
... The company said it plans to produce Jeeps in China for sale in China, but is expanding Jeep production in the United States.
... Chrysler Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchionne told employees in an e-mail Tuesday Jeep production "will not be moved from the United States to China."

I remember when Trump was standing on stage with Romney way back when Romney was still running against Santorum and Newt, and all the other times since then that it seemed that Trump was going to bat for Romney.
Will Romney back up what Trump said and stand with Trump?
I hope not. What Trump said is not true. How many times do the execs have to say it is not true before Trump shuts up and realizes he looks like a fool?
Uh, an Election maybe?
Seventy per-cent of GM production is now in China. And the CEO ( not Obama) said that they were going to shift more production there.
I think its been conclusively determined that the Bloomberg article that Romney and Trump are referring to was in error in their assertion.
But who is telling the truth? Like DallasSun said in post#3...
More and more news sources are going to investigate the reported 1,100 Jeep jobs that are supposed to be created in Toledo, Ohio soon.
So if Trump is blowing hot air (don’t know if he is or isn’t), maybe Romney should distance himself from Trump’s comments?
“says that Jeep is planning on spending over $325 million in Toledo, Ohio”
What about all of Jeeps parts...
The Truth:
Our ineffective gov’t has allowed China to impose regulations and taxes on imported vehicles, essentially preventing any nation from exporting vehicles into China.
If you want to sell vehicles in China, which now buys more vehicles than North America, you must partner with a Chinese company and build them there.
That is what GM and Chrysler are doing (as well as everyone else). They want a piece of the massive Chinese market.
Given recent events, Japanese vehicles are being shunned by the Chinese, opening up the chance to get a slice of the Chinese pie.
The failure of our gov’t (both parties) is to create a level playing field with China on automobiles.
Would love to get the details on this so I can respond to (rebut) this on Facebook:

It’s saying Mitt made a similar charge & calling it a gaffe. Any helpful intel would be appreciated.
Heard that the CEO of Fiat/Chrysler says Fiat is thinking of moving Chrysler and Jeep production to Italy and exporting both into the US. So there are multiple scenarios on the table.

If they’re going to build Jeeps in China simply to SELL in China, then it makes perfect buisiness sense. The first NYC taxicabs were built by Fiat’s US subsidiary in Poughkeepsie, NY around 1905. Henry Ford used this concept yrs later, as did GM and Chrysler. The very first Toyotas were actually modified Model T’s built under a licensing agreement. Same with Ford’s operations in the UK, S Africa, Austrailia, etc. On the other hand, if they’re building Jeeps there to send back here, that’s a big problem to say the least.
Thank you! Billy Jeff made some comments on the topic today that I found on another thread that I’ll use too.
