I have seen more than one online news source [Google: Toledo, Ohio, Jeep] that says that Jeep is planning on spending over $325 million in Toledo, Ohio to create 1,100 jobs there, so who knows what is going on...

I remember when Trump was standing on stage with Romney way back when Romney was still running against Santorum and Newt, and all the other times since then that it seemed that Trump was going to bat for Romney.

Will Romney back up what Trump said and stand with Trump?

Seventy per-cent of GM production is now in China. And the CEO ( not Obama) said that they were going to shift more production there.

I think its been conclusively determined that the Bloomberg article that Romney and Trump are referring to was in error in their assertion.

The Truth:

Our ineffective gov’t has allowed China to impose regulations and taxes on imported vehicles, essentially preventing any nation from exporting vehicles into China.

If you want to sell vehicles in China, which now buys more vehicles than North America, you must partner with a Chinese company and build them there.

That is what GM and Chrysler are doing (as well as everyone else). They want a piece of the massive Chinese market.

Given recent events, Japanese vehicles are being shunned by the Chinese, opening up the chance to get a slice of the Chinese pie.

The failure of our gov’t (both parties) is to create a level playing field with China on automobiles.

If they’re going to build Jeeps in China simply to SELL in China, then it makes perfect buisiness sense. The first NYC taxicabs were built by Fiat’s US subsidiary in Poughkeepsie, NY around 1905. Henry Ford used this concept yrs later, as did GM and Chrysler. The very first Toyotas were actually modified Model T’s built under a licensing agreement. Same with Ford’s operations in the UK, S Africa, Austrailia, etc. On the other hand, if they’re building Jeeps there to send back here, that’s a big problem to say the least.
