The Million Puppet March is occurring in Washington, D.C. today. The Million Puppet March website states their goal is to "support continued funding for public broadcasting." The Washington Post has a story too.

Petty and venal, basically a perfect stereotype of what motivates a Obama voter.
Their rallying cry-”Give me your money!”

to "support continued funding for public broadcasting."
I believe that Sesame Street could be on its own!1 Look in the stores and you'll see BIG BIRD, Elmo as toys, on clothes (yes even adult clothes), on lunchboxes, on food and other places.
The Taxpayers doesn't need to support PBS. SESAME STREET can SUPPORT PBS by itself!!
I know Carol Speevey (Big Bird) great guy!!

For those with nothing else better to do than march with puppets for taxpayer money. File under: Backfire.

Hundreds of puppets at the Million Puppet March. And these are the puppets teaching math to Amerika's children.
To: lonevoice

Was there an ever more aptly named protest than the Million Puppet March?

I'll check out this thread when I get more time... looks like a good one!
Zelig said before we left CT either we're going to the "Million Muppet March" (wasn't that what it was originally called?) in DC, or we're going to Ohio. So far I'm glad we chose Ohio... ;-)

"Million Muppet March" (wasn't that what it was originally called?)The website is millionpuppetmarch.com
I'm betting this group of freeloaders wasn't willing to pay licensing fees to use "Muppets," or Disney was not willing to grant a license for the event.
