Prayer thread for the last four days of this vital election

I know many of you are signed up to be in prayer during these last three days for this Presidential election. I have often found that sharing our prayers and meditations is one of the most powerful aspects of the Free Republic community. So I started this thread, hoping that you will share your prayers with me.

Rev. Billy Graham Offers Prayer, Help to Mitt Romney

ASHEVILLE, N.C., — Evangelist Billy Graham told Mitt Romney today that he would do anything he could to help his candidacy. The two met at Graham’s North Carolina home.

Near the end of thirty minute meeting, Graham led a prayer for the Romneys and said, “I’ll do all I can to help you. And you can quote me on that,” according to a Romney aide who sat in on the private meeting.

Graham is 93 years old and is in frail health — he was hospitalized over the summer after he came down with bronchitis. He has had prostate cancer and been diagnosed with Parkinson disease.

But today Graham appeared upbeat during the meeting with Romney and Graham’s son, Rev. Franklin Graham. Graham was seated in a big leather chair as he chatted with Romney about his late father, George Romney, who died in 1995 after suffering heart attack while working out on a treadmill. The elder Graham considered George Romney to be a friend, according to an aide.

Graham asked Romney what he could do for him, and Romney replied that “prayer is the most helpful thing you can do for me.”

“And what you’re planning, what your son has shown me is going to be very, very helpful,” said Romney. “I appreciate that, it’s going to be terrific.”

Aides to Romney did not elaborate on what, exactly the Grahams showed Romney or what they are planning to do.

According to an aide, Romney and the Graham’s also discussed religious freedom, religious persecution, and growth of the Grahams’ ministry in China, Sudan and North Korea. They also spoke about Afghanistan, as Rev. Franklin Graham’s son has served three tours there.

Bless you Dr. Graham. You have been an inspiration for many generations of God' servamts and leaders. You're endorsement in prayer for Mitt Romney over Barack Obama is living proof that God will bless this country in His name who knows all. Jesus Christ, Amen

Dear Heavenly Father have mercy on our nation. Keep Romney and Ryan safe in Your Loving Care. Touch the hearts of those who seek Your help to remove the godless heathens from our White House.

Bless our nation with a resounding message of proof that we are people of God and want our nation restored to greatness.

I thank you and praise you that You are a God of mercy and love. Thank you for dying for us when we were so unworthy. For salvation and eternal hope.

God our beloved USA needs Your Divine intervention. Please dear God bring victory on Tuesday’s election.

Lord where evil men and women are trying to deceive and cheat, bring it to the light. Give those working the polls courage to speak out.

Be with every candidate that is standing for rightousness and integrity. Senate races, Congressional seats, propositions, and for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. OH God may it be so that Obama will be removed with a great victorious overwhelming vote. May it be so obvious that God has intervened that non believers will stand in awe and know that GOD has spoken.

Lord, we pray that you continue to shine your divine light on Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, and that you light their path to victory in this election. Guide them to make the best decisions for their country, to provide the moral and spiritual leadership that we so desperately need, and to find the way to best guide our country out of the wilderness. May they be lifted on the wings of the prayers of the millions who are praying for them.

Please protect them and their families through this turbulent time. We pray that you will help and guide those who are tasked with protecting them.

Today's sermon.bible school lesson came from Jeramiah 18. We spoke of God's plan, of being broken before we could be molded and discernment. Church will be open for prayer until after the election.

Am continuing to meditate on the scripture and enclosed it for a two or more partner.

The Potter and the Clay

18 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2 “Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will let you hear my words.” 3 So I went down to the potter's house, and there he was working at his wheel. 4 And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter's hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do.

5 Then the word of the Lord came to me: 6 “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter has done? declares the Lord. Behold, like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel. 7 If at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom, that I will pluck up and break down and destroy it, 8 and if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I intended to do to it. 9 And if at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will build and plant it, 10 and if it does evil in my sight, not listening to my voice, then I will relent of the good that I had intended to do to it. 11 Now, therefore, say to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: ‘Thus says the Lord, Behold, I am shaping disaster against you and devising a plan against you. "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior," (1 Timothy 2:1-3, NIV)

"The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live."

Dear Lord and Savior, hear our humble prayers. We seek your face and turn from our wicked ways. Please hear us from heaven, and forgive our sin and heal our land.

Lord, I pray that the true voice of America comes through in this election. Stay the hand of any who would try to get their way by cheating the election process. We pray that election workers will be safe, and will discharge their duties with honor.

Be with Mitt Romney and Matt Ryan and their families. Keep them safe, keep them energetic, help them withstand the enormous stress of the next few days. Help those who are guarding them keep them safe from harm.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I come to You this election evening, confessedly, a little anxious regarding what is going to happen today. Lord, there is so much evil in our land. We have what amounts to a mediocre candidate, but one who I believe loves his country, running against one who is horrible and does not. Yet, in spite of this, we know, and in spite of the evil we see, there is also much good still in the land because Your influence is still here. Your people are still here. Your Spirit still reigns in their hearts and is sovereign over all that occurs in our land.

Father, our nation has sold itself into servitude - but not all. Many of us believe in being responsible while still being caring. In being strong will still remaining tender. And in being hopeful while still maintaining a steady gaze on what is true and what issues we face. We believe in life. We believe in faith. We believe in justice and goodness. And we believe in honoring You and sharing the gospel which You provided with every fiber our freedom allows. But, there is the other half of us who is just the opposite. They don’t believe in liberty for all but believe that we should be dependent on government. They don’t believe in free association or faith when it comes to groups or beliefs they don’t hold to. They believe in killing babies and same sex unions and would applaud sanctions or other action against Israel. And they vote.

Their thinking God is so diametrically opposed to all the You have laid forth in Your word that we know there is only one solution to our problems - and it isn’t Mitt Romney.

It is You, Lord. You are our hope. You are our life. Your are the King whom we joyfully serve and desire to please. You are our shield. You are our fortress and we know Lord that You are, still after all of this time, mighty to save.

We ask Lord for that which we do not deserve. We ask for grace. We ask for mercy. We ask for Your salvation from ourselves.

As the polls open up today, I pray that You would guard each precinct. Where there is fraud - thwart it. Cause the ballots to be calculated for an accurate and complete election; and I pray, Lord, that when the tallying is over, and not by a small margin for this nation is so very divided, let the winner be Romney/Ryan. I ask this not because they are wonderful. They are not. But I ask this because they are so much higher than their opponent and my hope is at least on life and Israel they can be counted upon - at least as much as you can for politicians.

Help us Lord. We need deliverance. Let us win the election but don’t leave us at that point. Let us win the battle for the soul of our nation. We love You Lord. We need You. We ask that You sojourn amongst us once again and in Your providence direct our paths towards righteousness.

I love You Lord and Savior. Keep us safe and may life win. May Israel win. May Your name be glorified by Your people tomorrow and may the threats of violence be empty rhetoric. I pray it all in the matchless name of Jesus my Lord and Savior.
