New Jersey an 'Apocalyptic Vision' Two Days After Obama Photo Op
Breitbart ^ | 11/2/12 | Michael Patrick Leahy

Two days after President Obama flew into storm-ravaged New Jersey on Wednesday for a 90 minute photo op with Governor Christie, parts of the state have descended into what one local resident calls "an apocalyptic vision." On Friday, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, this New Jersey resident described the situation there:

New Jersey right now is experiencing an apocalyptic vision. Gas lines are a mile long. Hundreds are standing in line with gas cans. Fights are breaking out. Police and national guard have been called out. I've not had power or taken a shower since Sunday. Pray for us here.

FEMA reps are meeting with people in their residences to assess how recovery assistance can be provided to them.

While FEMA representatives had finally arrived on the ground by Friday, most of them appear to be focused on providing financial assistance to victims of Hurricane Sandy at some point in the future. There is no indication yet that any FEMA representatives on the ground are actually doing anything to aid in the distribution of food, supplies, gas, or restoring electricity.

On Wednesday, President Obama promised to deliver a far rosier outcome to New Jersey residents over the next several days. In fact, the President made a specific promise that he would make sure supplies were delivered, as CNN reported. Two days later, he's failed to deliver on that promise, though he has been able to campaign in key swing states across the country during that time:

Many people across the region are still in need of basic supplies. President Barack Obama visited a shelter Wednesday in the hard-hit town of Brigantine, New Jersey, where he said he met a woman with an 8-month-old who has run out of diapers and formula.

"Those are the kinds of basic supplies

“And changed the character of the town.”

**********************************************************

Liberals do this wherever they decide to infest. They are not ever content to become part of what is there or simply keep their ideas to themselves. Instead they have to “change” things to reflect what THEY in their profound arrogance think is a “better” way.

Liberals are the most closed minded, self aggrandizing and uninformed as*holes on the planet.

“I spent time in the South (NC) and can testify they are easily the warmest and most friendly people in the country (Southerners in general)”

Yes, they are. But being a Midwest gal, my door is always open to my neighbor. I may not cook a prize winning Red Velvet Cake or Pecan Pie, and I may be a Yankee, but I wouldn’t ever turn someone away. None of my neighbors would, either.

“I grew up in a farming town where cows outnumbered humans till the 90s, when many of the rich, liberal kids from other towns couldn’t afford to live in mommy and daddy’s town, so they moved here. And changed the character of the town.”

That sums up northern Bergen County NJ (now one of the wealthiest counties in the US); 35 years ago it was farmland and woods, then the white lib exodus from NYC overwhelmed them. The newcomers drove up taxes by demanding everything, and effectively taxed the natives out of their own towns. A damned shame; further west in NJ they are trying to head that off by restricting the number of housing units that can be put on one piece of land (as the farms are reached by urban sprawl and development).

I think that the any positive that te chair got going to NJ will be negative by Election Day. NY and NJ are pi$$ed and the rest of the country is seeing that. They will take it out on encumbents.

I have to laugh at the artificial line separating "New England" from NYS....

upstate has glorious forests and lakes..orchards and farms and MAPLE TREES to make New England look puny....I think NYS makes more Maple syrup than any or all of the New England states, and its highly rated...as is its cheese industry....and its wine industry....

you want a nice simple New England holiday?....drive up to Old Forge and work you're way around the Adirondecks to Lake Placid and Lake George, and Lake Piseco and Lake Champlain...

Grandma Moses was from New York State....

Chocolate cake nirvana lost in a church cookbook. Arrgghhh!!!! It’s one of the recipes I can count on one hand as essential...but I don’t have it any more.

This is funny because here in Oklahoma, we get the same reactions from visitors, especially those from the north. I am told we are the friendliest, kindest, and most helpful people on the planet, which seems funny to us because it’s just the norm around here. It’s why I LOVE living here (except for the weather). If I could live somewhere that is as absolutely conservative as OK (reddest state in the union!) but has weather that’s mostly rainy with temps in the 30s year-round, I’d move there. On top of that, my house, which is modest by anyone’s standards around here (2500 sq feet) would be worth, I am told, about 2 million in other parts of the US (my mortgage is about $1000/month). So yeah, besides the stinking hot weather, I doubt I would ever live anywhere else. Lots of room to roam, very conservative and intelligent population who believe in personal responsibility...it’s a pretty okay place to live :) Oh!! And I almost forgot one of the best parts...OPEN CARRY, BABY!!

If Obama loses, and I believe he shall lose, he won’t be in a hurry to help these people no matter what.

I am 70. I had my epiphany at age 27. By my math, I have been conservative longer than I was liberal. And by *liberal*, I mean closer to a classical liberal or the old fashioned sort of democrat who was not a statist.

Too much knee-jerkin’ going down around here.
