It is with great sadness and regret that I post: Joseph Phillips OD, aka BadJoe, passed away today, November 1, 2012, after a long illness. Joe wanted to hang on until November 7, 2012, but lost his struggle just a few days too early.
Joe was a patriot, a lover of liberty, and an independent-minded gentleman. He leaves behind family, friends, and a loving wife. He will be missed.
RIP BadJoe.
“Do you mean the modified one for bad backs? “
That’s it, it makes you sit up straight instead of slouching.
So many now.
“So many now. “
I just went through the list and am astonished at how young most were!!!!
I had one of his chairs and used it for years.
RIP BadJoe.
Wow... that shook the cobwebs loose.
Now I remember... Elvis Suite.
Yikes
(I haven’t “organized” much of anything since then.)
Hope you & yours are well.
Pete
Prayers up for BadJoe, and his family and friends.
“”BadJoe was there with that patented ergo chair of his!””
I’m sitting in “his” chair right now. Brought it with me when we left CA for GA 6 years ago.
Loved that man and we were so lucky to have him as a neighbor just a few miles from us when we were in Costa Mesa. No pretense to him whatsoever. It was a beautiful thing that we could drop in and ask if he and Willa wanted to go to breakfast or dinner without standing on ceremony. They met us one morning at a restaurant in Huntington Beach on their scooters.
Joe gave so much joy to so many people. He will be missed!!! I expect him to be watching over us on Tuesday.
God Bless Willa and family. RIP Joe!!
RIP.
RIP Joe.
I’m so sorry to hear this sad news and join in earnest prayer for the loved ones: God’s peace, blessing and guidance as they deal with BadJoe’s homegoing.
Bad Joe was a great Freeper. He was a salesman par excellance.
He invented and produced a chair with no back designed to force the sitter into proper posture while working at a desk/computer.
I know this because I tried one out in the bar at the Holiday Inn Alexandria. Freepers gathered, actually took it over, there during some event in DC. Bad Joe brought the chair all the way from California to hawk to his Freeper friends
Those days are gone....... forever I guess. There is no appetite for activism
RIP

Very sorry to hear that. Was also saddened when Joe moved on from FR. God bless all concerned.
Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace. Amen.
Our heartfelt condolences, Willa. We really enjoyed yours and Joe’s company on that cruise.

All,
I just wanted to take a moment to pass on a tribute to someone I considered a genuine friend in liberty. Badjoe was a man who understood the nature of liberty, rights, and free market economics in a way that few do. He was a kind and powerful voice. Years ago we were frequent correspondents, and I got to know and respect him greatly. I took the news of his passing with great sorrow.
He will be missed.
May his family find peace in the knowledge that he touched many lives, including mine.
Sincerely, OWK
refresh for those friends of Bad Joe that might have missed this thread!
