In my youth, Trick-or-Treat was a multi-night proposition. I lived in Rochester, New York when my Dad was attending graduate school and the girl next door went out starting about the 15th of October.

Good evening, Sir Conor! *hugs*

Can't believe I finally got back.

Halloween was a big deal when I was young as well. We didn't start on the 15th but we stayed out for hours!

A wonderful post thankyou very much.
I was serving on the Australian destroyer HMAS Vampire in 1961 when we did a similar jackstay transfer with the famous American WW2 aircraft carrier USS Hornet.
I got goose pimples at the memory just by looking at your posting.
I also served with your ships in Vietnam and had many beers with your guys in Subic Bay 1966-67.
May the good LORD bless all who serve in the U.S. Navy.
And God bless the USA and Australia.

Hey Ma! All the tricksters have gone home. They tell me it was -20 last year and too cold to go ringing doorbells.

+17 and a whole bunch of little tigers, bees, and werewolves.

Sounds like the little ones had a good time. They are always so cute. ((HUGS)) The ones don’t go to indoor places are all bundled up and cuter still. -20 is a tad cold to be out going from door to door.

We were dark for the first time. My Dad usually sits on the bench in the foyer and reads between door bell rings. He can’t anymore. My Mom is a tad more mobile, but very, very slow. And I get home late...that is when the teens come. They aren’t nearly as cute or much fun to talk to....I opted out.

I have worn my extreme cold weather issued military boots twice. They are not broken in. They work well. But, they are too warm if it is above +10.

I am still acclimating.
