..............When it came to weapons, the U.S. security team was outgunned. The Americans were equipped with M4 rifles and side arms. But Libya was rife with rocket-propelled grenades, machine guns, mortars and AK-47s.
Much of the security depended on maintaining a low profile. At one point, Nordstrom, the regional security officer, proposed establishing guard towers, but the State Department rejected that on the grounds that it would make the compound more conspicuous.
There was no doubt, however, that there were many in Benghazi who knew the compound's location. On June 6, a bomb was planted near the American Mission's outer wall, blowing out a 12-foot-wide hole. No one was injured.
On June 11, the lead vehicle of the British ambassador's convoy was hit by an armor-piercing rocket-propelled grenade, wounding a British medic and driver. The British envoy left Benghazi the next day, and the British post in the city was closed June 17.
About the same time, the Red Cross pulled out after it was attacked a second time. "When that occurred, it was apparent to me that we were the last flag flying in Benghazi; we were the last thing on their target list to remove," said Lt. Col. Andrew Wood, the head of the military security team in Tripoli.
In the event of a significant attack, Oliveira noted, the Americans were counting on the February 17th Brigade to rush to their aid, as it had during the June 6 bombing. The embassy had also established a series of "trip wires," classified benchmarks about intelligence on attack preparations or escalating unrest that would prompt the United States to evacuate the Benghazi compound. But the trip wires were not set off.
New security cameras with night-vision capability were shipped to the Benghazi compound but were still sitting in crates when the September attack occurred.....................................

Billy felt that this administration has tied the American warriors’ hands behind their backs. He was in Afghanistan while Bush was president, but on his second tour of duty, in 2010, he became angry because of what had changed. Billy said that Aaron always said, “Our enemies understand force. They hate us, but they also fear us. They only respect power.”......................

Why did Benghazi security fall short?...’Cause they didn’t have none?
The U.S. had superpowerful air assets, real-time eyes-on intelligence and trained SEALs with a target designator.
But the Jihadists had one of their own in the White House. He encouraged the SEALs to give away their position by designating targets - but then refused to allow the circling AC-130 to open fire.
Our soldiers in Afghanistan are forced to work with Afghani soldiers, policemen, functionaires, etc. unarmed. They are also so saddled with other “non-threatening appearance” orders, they are often murdered before they can get to something to defend themselves with. ROEs are a joke as is Obama’s plan.
For Libya, a country whose ‘revolution’ was organized by Obama and led from behind, a brotherhood Muslim state so sympathetic to Obama, a state ‘devoid’ of Al Qaeda (because the one shot Osama), the very existence of a gun in American hands would be the supreme insult. Obama was about bowing and cowtowing. He wasn’t about protection.
That’s everyone’s jobs - to take the bullet, fall on the sword for his magnificient one-ness.
So, OPTICS....it was the optics.
These 3 elements created a scenario for the "perfect storm" or devastating attack, if you will.
This Regime is guilty of wantonly disregarding the safety of our Embassy personnel (much as it has been with its ROE's toward our Military in AfGan) for the sake of appeasing/defending/supporting all things Islam.
May they all (Obama, Hillary, Panetta, Dempsey, Jarrett, et al, who are complicit and guilty) rot in Hell!!!
This "fog of war" bs is the last gasp of Obama's smoke and mirrors crowing about "mission accomplished."
The most logical conclusion is that Obama/Clinton
wanted the Ambassador either DEAD or held to be
traded for Obama’s Blind Sheik.
In addition, Obama could give more CIA- and other
intel to al Qaeda (the DNC/Obama way).

“conspicuous” ?? a guard tower? Yeah, probably way more conspicuous than that American flag flying out front. Not to mention those black Suburbans? No Americans here just us private contractors——————Can you believe the petty krap that floats in the heads of Obamuzzie’s bunch? I’m pretty sure the CIA knows how to stay out of sight but Hillary can’t keep both sides of her butt under the same shade tree.
