People better hope these winds don't work their way to the sfc in heavy convection....
Could be. I haven’t heard the exact location recently.

902 mb for Katrina, the fourth lowest on record. Is 937.5 the lowest for one this far north?
Reporting from Hartford County, CT and I am hunkering down for the long late afternoon, evening.
Believe me, I’d rather you had been right! I just hope everybody can get through it... and that the GFS model gets its biases fixed.
Syracuse area.
Yep... north of at least 35°N lat, as I understand it.
Thanks for checking in. Hang in there, and keep us updated when you can.
Atlantic City approaches being cut off surge already 5 feet above normal Photo
Cool beans,, Building I am in ( Fox) is swaying.
You wouldn’t know it if you were watching FNC. They don’t seem to know about the city 100 miles southwest of them that happens to be directly in Sandy’s path.
The little creek down the street is usually dry and I’ve never seen it go over so we’re safe, except that IF the power goes out, we’re not high on the priority to fix list. We’ll manage.
Same here for us except for the 70 MPH winds.
But we’re not on a hilltop either.
Thanks.
Yes. I’m sorry folks, I had meant ‘in this region, this location and north of it’.
I heard to information on Fox News and meant to relate that to the forum participants.
Well I’m in the swamps of Delaware, got our own Fox guy on our Rehoboth Boardwalk; home of so many of our homosexual brethren.
Supposed to make landfall around 5pm around Atlantic City, up the road a piece from me. Storm said to be moving faster. Wind whipping here, scary.
Lost Comcast this morning cause that’s what they do. Came back. Electricity okay but got three things ready to do if goes out.
Good one, Nauti. Well done.
Oh! for an inexpensive, reliable, mass-producible method of home electricity production.

WHY was that crane allowed to stay there. NYC had plenty of warning for this. What was Bloomberg doing? Now, they are sending engineers up there to secure it ????
