On Saturday afternoon a White House spokesman emphatically denied that President Obama had denied requests for help during the Benghazi attack. "Neither the president nor anyone in the White House denied any requests for assistance in Benghazi," wrote National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor in an email to Yahoo News.
That rebuttal follows a TV interview on Friday in which Obama avoided responding to a question about whether CIA operatives were told to "stand down" during the Benghazi attack.
KYLE CLARK, KUSA-TV, Denver: Were they denied requests for help during the attack?
PRESIDENT OBAMA: Well, we are finding out exactly what happened. I can tell you, as I've said over the last couple of months since this happened, the minute I found out what was happening, I gave three very clear directives. Number one, make sure that we are securing our personnel and doing whatever we need to. Number two, we're going to investigate exactly what happened so that it doesn't happen again. Number three, find out who did this so we can bring them to justice. And I guarantee you that everyone in the state department, our military, the CIA, you name it, had number one priority making sure that people were safe.
In a separate radio interview on Friday, Obama pushed back on Fox News allegations that he lied about the administration's response.
"I've always been straight with the American people," the president told Philadelphia radio host Michael Smerconish.
"What's true is that the intelligence was coming in and evolving as more information came up," Obama said, explaining why his administration's explanation had changed in the hours and days after the attack.
“Well, we are finding out exactly what happened.”
The American people are, as well, Bath-House Barry.

TOTAL BS this was playing real time in the situation room in the white house. No one needed to inform the president. It was done.
Pat Cadell and Coulter were like a duet of anger and i was i yelling right along.
Cadell expressed emotionally what many of us feel.

However , the military must follow only the military command lines of authority .
Someone in the military must have instructed the military to “Stand Down” based upon those same lines of authority.
The qustion is : who is the source of that order ?

The first question that needs to be asked is if the White House received a request for help. If they did and the president decided to do nothing then they would also have not “turned down” the request - but the result would be the same
Saying that they did not turn down a request for help could easily be parsing words. Technically true - maybe they did not actively deny a reauest - but not accurate in that the result is the same.
Technically that may be different from denying them, depending on the definition of "is", blah blah blah. SecDef Panetta (Clinton's chief of staff during the Lewinsky era) is doubtlessly telling Zero exactly how to dodge this.

Mr President, since you recently proclaimed that Mr Romney is a bullshitter, I suppose it would be ok if I declared that you are full of shit as you answer these questions. May the souls of the four who died rest in peace. And I just am with amazement that you still have nearly 50% of the American people fooled with your ‘Elmer Gantry’ tactics.....
Why couldn’t Obama just answer the questions? Is it to avoid audio that Romney could use? Does he honestly think NOT answering is better than denying? The fact that Obama did not deny this outright tells me enough.
Those four aren’t the only deaths he’s responsible for.

This gets more Unreal by the moment. So now we’re to believe that neither the CIA, the State Dept., nor even the White House denied these requests for help. Who’s left??? Were these people waiting for Mars and Jupiter to send assistance???
Why does the so-called President of the United States have time for late-night talkshows and “radio interviews” yet no time for press conferences or intel briefings????

This is BS. The U.S. government denied a request for assistance. Obama runs the U.S. government. Therefore Obama denied assistance.
President probably only denied immediate action and was looking for an alternative.
