Or maybe he took Latin back at his chic high class Hawaian High School and left with a false understanding of the Latin noun ‘res’ (thing or in Obamaspeak, stuff). But in my Jesuit HS days God help you if you actually translated res as thing. It was a Roman shorthand pronoun and had defined referants. Obama just uses ‘stuff’ because he can’t actually think of any concrete answers without the TOTUS.
