International election observers planning to visit Texas polling places have full immunity from being arrested in the United States, the State Department said when discussing a letter from the Texas Attorney General.
Im not going to get into any kind of hypothetical situations or predict where this is going to go other than to say we have every expectation that this will be worked out and to state the fact, which is that under U.S. law they are eligible for immunities, said State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland. Reporters tried to get her to state explicitly that Texas could not arrest election observers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), but Nuland would only reiterate that OSCE observers have full immunity.
Attorney General Greg Abbott, R-Texas, warned OSCE that it may be a criminal offense for OSCEs representatives to maintain a presence within 100 feet of a polling places entrance, as The Hill noted.

See if this is right. Soros friends business and Soppain tallying the votes with the UN observing. One world government? What happened to an American election with AMERICAN's tallying the votes or at least the new Black panthers
* barf*
Better if they just "get lost" in west Texas till forever.
Put em’ in a plane, give them a parachute, drop them over Benghazi.
Well, I’m sure that the local authorities will get that immunity thing all straightened out.
Eventually.
PROOF POSITIVE WE HAVE BEEN TAKEN OVER BY RADICAL ANTI AMERICAN COMMUNISTS. We must politically destroy this crowd come November and boot their commie rear ends all the way back to Cuba.
A little spanking with a pick axe handle will keep them away, no need to arrest the commies.
Bring it, State. Unless they’ve been extended full immunity with the papers to prove it, you’re blowing wind.
Sure you can. What a stupid headline. Just walk up to em, handcuff em, and haul em away. Quite simple. If they have protectors there, walk up to em, arrest em, handcuff em, and haul em away. Again, simple.
I wonder if they could be detained at the airport for suspicious items in their luggage?
Have a drug dog sniff their money and then hold them for trying to import drugs into the US.
They don’t have to arrest these observers to simply not allow them access to enter the state or the polling places.
Yeah, and Texas can’t execute scumbag Mexicans that commit murder here, either. Uh, wait a minute.... WE DID!
Hmmm....
WE seem to think that J E Carter can go where he wants and ‘observe’ elections on his own.
Now if the visited countries asked us/him for help it is one thing, if we just (rightfully) think they may be to dumb and inexperienced to hold an election well.... To quote a member of BO’s ‘inner circle’ “America’s chickens coming home to roost”.
Those ‘savages’ in Iraq at least had the common sense to dip ones finger in ink so as he couldn’t vote again.
Crude BUT effective.
Of course I can envision ‘roaming gangs’ with bottles of ink attacking potential voters.
With the most sophisticated system in the world we have many ‘problems’.
However, American Idol has managed to figure out a way to keep people from voting twice.....
Go Figure.....
Would bet because Eric Holder hates our guts since the state is Republican. He was all over us about re-districting, held up our primary due to that, and made sure our photo ID. law didn't take place in this election.
Eric Holder, in my opinion, is a racist thug.
Our Atty General dosen't play games.
Basically they appear to be the biggest busybody, stick-their-nose-in-your-business org on the planet.

But full immunity from being arrested in the United States?
Laughable.
Reporters tried to get her to state explicitly that Texas could not arrest election observers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), but Nuland would only reiterate that OSCE observers have full immunity
Umm, don't think so Mizz Nuland.
Let's look at "Diplomatic Immunity" as it is practiced here in the u.S.
Diplomatic immunity is a form of legal immunity and a policy held between governments that ensures that diplomats are given safe passage and are considered not susceptible to lawsuit or prosecution under the host country's laws, although they can still be expelled. It was agreed as international law in the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations (1961),
In reality, most diplomats are representatives of nations with a tradition of professional civil service, and are expected to obey regulations governing their behavior and they suffer strict internal consequences (disciplinary action) if they flout local laws. In many nations a professional diplomat's career may be compromised if they (or even members of their family) disobey the local authorities or cause serious embarrassment, and such cases are, at any rate, a violation of the spirit of the Vienna Conventions.
The Vienna Convention is explicit that "without prejudice to their privileges and immunities, it is the duty of all persons enjoying such privileges and immunities to respect the laws and regulations of the receiving State." Nevertheless, on some occasions, diplomatic immunity leads to some unfortunate results; protected diplomats have violated laws (including those that would be violations at home as well) of the host country and that country has been essentially limited to informing the diplomat's nation that the diplomat is no longer welcome (persona non grata). Diplomatic agents are not, however, exempt from the jurisdiction of their home state, and hence prosecution may be undertaken by the sending state; for minor violations of the law, the sending state may impose administrative procedures specific to the foreign service or diplomatic mission.
The Convention does not cover the personnel of international organizations, whose privileges are decided upon on a case-by-case basis, usually in the treaties founding such organizations.
Yes, the u.S. is an active member of OSCE.
NO, there is no treaty. OSCE is a NGO, not a nation. Continuing...
Other categories of government officials (not international organizations) that may travel frequently to other countries may not have diplomatic passports or diplomatic immunity, such as members of the military, high-ranking government officials, ministers, and others.
There are some limited immunities for staff of international organizations. The following demonstrates the basic difference.
International organization category
Diplomatic-level staff of missions to international organizations
May be arrested or detained? No
Residence may be entered subject to ordinary procedures? No

So, Mizz Nuland, about that OSCE observers have "full immunity."
It is you that appears to be full... of "it."
.full immunity.
Who invited, or initiated the sending of “International election observers” to monitor election polling places in the U.S.?
Shem picked the Wrong State and the Wrong AG to pull this crap on.
Greg Abbott is quite up to handling these creeps.
Those she said have immunity Are Not UN officials. They do not represent directly any nation who is a member of the UN.
Screw them.
it I remember from my old police academy days, Diplomatic Immunity doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t be arrested, it means you can be prosecuted.
If a diplomat is wasted and behind the wheel, he certainly can be arrested, lest the officer be charged later if the guy wrecks and kills someone.
I would advise the OSCE observers that the Texas Attorney General is not someone to be flaunting imaginary immunities in front of.
.
South Carolina has already arrested more than 15 Holder thugs, and each is facing up to 20 years in prison. Come on down, ya’ll UN pigs. We got plenty of space to lose your identity and make momma wonder why her basement is so quiet.
I’d guess that Texas can do better because it’s bigger.
