In Northern suburbs of Chicago:
2008: Obama intensity overflowing in every direction.
2012: Have NEVER heard enthusiasm expressed for Obama. What I have heard is low-key excuses for Obama or low-key sniping at Romney.

Obama Support is in a complete crater from everyone I have talked to. The only area where I can find support not down phenomenally from 2008 is among academics. Everywhere else its in the toilet compared to 2008.
If Obama is winning PA its only by the slimmest of margins.. there is no way he’s carrying OH, IA or WI.

Furthermore, I have never seen such lack of support for a Black candidate over a White candidate in the Black community ever. WHen there's been a Black guy running for mayor or city council or president (remember when Jessie Jackson was trying to get his party's nod way back when?) the yard and window signs began to appear in Black neighborhoods. In 2008, they were like Obama wallpaper. This time, there's almost none.
Even with the recent increase in Obama support in the burbs where I live, Romney still has the edge. I have to believe the Pennsylvania race is very close. A nasty rainstorm in Philadelphia could easily put a hurting on the Obama turnout. I'm going to pray for rain.
After this whole campaign I have seen stickers on a total of three cars in my area, and I know who these people are. They’d support a dog turd with “D” behind its name. I think the dems in the area have been concentrating harder on local elections, but even then, the enthusiasm has been very lukewarm. There are far more signs for Romney.
Northern VA. Yard signs in my neighborhood are about 3 Romney to every 2 Obama. In 2008 they were about 4-1 Obama. Our Romney sign (along with several other Romney and Republican yard signs in the area) was stolen last weekend. We had a backup.
I’m seeing not even half as many Obama bumper stickers as I saw in 2008.
In 2008 there were 0bama bumper stickers and yard signs everywhere. This year there are very few.

My local newspaper just endorsed Obama (naturally). The comments on their website usually are very liberal. I read them, and they are really ripping into the paper for supporting Obama. Great to see!
One on the points in the editorial praising Obama, is that he is the only one who can bring this divided country together. REALLY! He caused it.
In California’s 15th congressional district, which includes the cities of Los Gatos and Cupertino, heart of Silicon Valley. Not much in the way of Obama signs or enthusiasm, but then again nothing for Romney either. District went 68.4% for Obama in 2008 (62.9% for Kerry in 2004, 56.7% for Gore in 2000). It is a lost cause here.
2008.....wholesale gushing for bozo....this year, signage seems to be relegated to specific neighborhoods.
Lots of R/R signs, bumperstickers, and even saw a “fire obama” billboard downtown last week. dont see the fire this time for bozo....at least visibly.

I was just thinking theft of yard signs and bumper sticker vandalizing is a good indicator. This will happen more (2008) when the left/0bama voters are more jazzed up, confident and tripping out on their mocha messiah. Which is not the case in 2012
In Ohio, midway between Cleveland and Akron I counted 7 Romney signs to 2 Obama signs. The signs were more even last time around.
I’m in the only conservative part of New York City, Staten Island and I’ve been conducting a sandwich board campaign in the Ferry Terminal each Monday and Friday morning. I can say by reading faces that Blacks and Hispanics are much less enthusiastic about voting this year. My best readers are Black females and many thank and bless me and my buddy.
Here in the suburbs of North Denver, CO, I see ZERO Obama signs in peoples yards. A few scattering of Romney signs but no where near the level of enthusiasm of the McCain/Palin signage.
More anecdotal evidence, FWIW: there's a guy in my town, big-time Dem, well-known with a big house in the town center. Every election year, for as long as I can recall, he has displayed an over-sized yard sign in front of his house. Had one for Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Obama (in '08).
This year: he's got a big sign out there for the Democrat state senate candidate. But no Obama sign, anywhere to be found.
Since you are in Ohio, can you elaborate on what you think it means that you count 2 Romney yard things v. 7 for Obama?

For what it is worth, I received a personal call from a Democrat looking for votes for Obama. I told her she had reached a conservative Republican household. They should certainly know it’s a Republican household.
If the Democrats are making cold calls in Maryland, well, I know BO will win MD but...wow.
Malden MA. No presidential signs at all. Few Brown and Warren signs. Some Katoujian for Sheriff but I know they all work for the Sheriff of Middlesex County.
