Officials at the White House and State Department were advised two hours after attackers assaulted the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 that an Islamic militant group had claimed credit for the attack, official emails show.
The emails, obtained by Reuters from government sources not connected with U.S. spy agencies or the State Department and who requested anonymity, specifically mention that the Libyan group called Ansar al-Sharia had asserted responsibility for the attacks.
The brief emails also show how U.S. diplomats described the attack, even as it was still under way, to Washington.
U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed in the Benghazi assault, which President Barack Obama and other U.S. officials ultimately acknowledged was a "terrorist" attack carried out by militants with suspected links to al Qaeda affiliates or sympathizers. ...

Who received this e-mail in the situation room?
Who, in the White House received this information?
When did Obama know and who told him?
Wow, Rooters sure twisted themselves into knots desperately trying to pretend that Obama wasn’t lying through his teeth.
.....and who told obama to go get some sleep because he had an early flight to Vegas the next morning?
It’s not uncommon for trouble making jihadist groups to claim to be behind some kind of dastardly jihadist act in the world whether or not they were. But still, this ought to have been followed up, and candidly reported. Especially if those claiming credit were not previously known for vain public puffery about the works of others.
Apparently nobody with sense.
Sounds like it was seen by some doting ex school teacher giggling that boys will be boys.
Did you just roll out of bed?
I just watched Gen Wesley Clark lying on CNN...a rerun from early in the evening I believe.
Not the first time I watched Clark lie on TV, he has done it manty times over thew years, so I do not take this lightly, what I am about to say...
In my opinion Gen Wesley Clark is a disgrace to the US military, he is NOT someone to look up to..I personally have zero respect for him, he is a disgrace to the uniform period.
If it was up to me he would lose his pension, and be discharged, yes I know he is retired
Exactly! Where was the President when this was happening and what was he doing!
Exactly! Where was the President when this was happening and what was he doing!
He was probably off counting Gaddafi's Billons
The disturbing part is the initial phone call never got a response for help.

SENIOR STATE DEPARTMENT OFFICIAL:...I neglected to mention from the top that that agent from the top of this incident, or the very beginning of this incident, has been on the phone. He had called the quick reaction security team, he had called the Libyan authorities, he had called the Embassy in Tripoli, and he had called Washington.
Obamas acknowledgment on receiving a phone call from consulate in Benghazi.

Obama Now with respect to Libya, as I indicated in the last debate, when we received that phone call, I immediately made sure that, number one, that we did everything we could to secure those Americans who were still in harms way;
Obama didn’t say “we did everything we could to secure those Americans who were still in harms way” in the second debate;

OBAMA: So as soon as we found out that the Benghazi consulate was being overrun, I was on the phone with my national security team and I gave them three instructions.
Number one, beef up our security and procedures, not just in Libya, but at every embassy and consulate in the region.
Number two, investigate exactly what happened, regardless of where the facts lead us, to make sure folks are held accountable and it doesnt happen again.
And number three, we are going to find out who did this and were going to hunt them down, because one of the things that Ive said throughout my presidency is when folks mess with Americans, we go after them.
Wesley Clark, AKA , “Waco baby killer”...lest we forget..
Will Romney order PROSECUTION in 2013?
I watched for over an hour different channels this morning to see who mentions Libya.
Zilch, except FOX, the other channels never once mentioned Libya, they did not cover the lies, the cover up, the mail, the intercepts, where was obama, where was Biden, why did they say this was a protest.
FRIGGING NOTHING FROM THIS MEDIA and then I saw FOX friends with FOX’s white house guy get asked by Gretchen Carlson why are the press corps [or is it corpse ] not asking about this to which FOX’s guy replied”well he;s not held a press conference”
Carlson had a great comeback”well don;t you get a white house press briefing with the white house spokesman, why not ask Jay Carney”
HEY MEDIA THIS IS WORSE THAN WATERGATE, the lies, white house watched as Americans died, , they lies about it, how it happened, and THIS MEDIA CRAP DOES NOT EVEN MENTION THIS LET ALONE INVESTIGATE IT.
exactly
We now know that the white house watched and knew about this attack.
We know they lied about how it went down.
Americans were left out to die.
This media has ignored all of this but my question is .
Obama must have been aware of this at the time, if not then he needs to fire a lot of folks but if he is aware then why did he refuse to send in help, why not a QRF sent in,
why did Obama go to Vegas after this attack.
Did oabma go back to sleep or did he watch the attack?
MEDIA DO YOUR JOB AND STOP BEING BIAS AND IF YOU THINK YOU’RE NOT BIAS THEN ASK YOURSELF IF BUSH HAD DONE THIS WOULD YOU HAVE IGNORED IT TOO.
