Marine drills will be changed to use hand made pointed sticks for close combat training.

I keep reading about Marines using bayonets in response to Obama's comment. Doesn't the army infantry still use them as well?

Yes obummer there are aircraft carriers and airplanes do land on them. They would be dead ducks if they weren't surrounded by a multi-ship task force for protection and support. Each carrier battle group can consist of 8-12 ships in addition to the carrier.
All submariners would rather be shot than call their submarines "ships" as you did. They are "boats".

Very strange. Apparently some folks in the Marine Corps have never checked the fit of bayonets on their current primary battle weapon, the M4. They do not fit! They haven't fit since the Corps exchanged their M16's for M4's.
Today's bayonet is nothing more than a fancy fighting knife that can not be attached to the Marines basic weapon.
RATS will NEVER learn to keep their stooopid mouth shut when it comes to all things military... never and that's a good thing
