Skip to comments.Final debate LIVE THREAD
Posted on 10/22/2012 2:44:46 PM PDT by GeorgiaDawg32
Available to watch on any news channel. 9 p.m. Eastern time.
Yes it's early but NCIS is a rerun.
How funny. This live thread has been bumped off the Breaking News sidebar.
Only to be replaced with a third or fourth Live Thread later.
Why? Why do people wanna sit around for 2 minutes waiting to post on a comment he said 2 minutes ago and by the time you do post...
The damn debates over.
If I were the boss; I’d lock these live debate threads and let FR operate as normal. Got something to say? Post it tomorrow on one of a jillion post debate threads.
(clicking send knowing it will be 2 minutes before it posts....)
Not everyone has TV. I don’t.
“Be very careful.”
His aggressiveness has been very appealing to voters.
Obama and Schieffer will be trying to trap him with it tonight. Turn it against him like in judo.
They’re ready for that, so he should be super nice.
Besides, he doesn’t want to be perceived as gung ho on foreign involvements.
It’s time for “Mr Nice Guy”.
Are you saying that if we get in this forum early we won’t get bumped off the forum during a “reload”?
Apparently also on YouTube:
They also have links to the Al-Jazeera pre-debate show, along with those of WSJ, ABC, Univision, NYT, etc. No FOX news, though (must be an oversight).
Think I’ll watch C-Span.
The system is not handling the increased loads and we do not know why yet. John says the system is not getting overloaded, the db is not overloaded, the cpus are mostly idle, the load averages are low, the db load averages are low, just reaches a point where throughput stalls. Im not a techie and I have no idea how to fix it. I thought maybe we could add another server or more RAM or replace some older servers or something, but I guess John doesnt think that will do it. Theres something wrong in the system software or the configuration but hes having trouble finding it.
And Im really upset too, but theres not a freaking thing I can do about it until John gets it figured out.

More later if we don't crash - One thing - Please watch slow page loads to see if "Google-Analytics" shows as loading as part of the page ... just curious.
Fingers crossed ... ;-)
as a backup.
What other gathering places are folks planning on congregating at if FR goes belly-up -- again? (URLs, please!)
More like it’s hopeless.
In for at least one post tonight.
WA Post-ABC tracking poll has Romney up 52-46 in swing states!
Getting on early is not the issue. Once the recent debates have started FR has been overloaded. A reload might work but will usually fail.
"Live" debate threads of late have turned into "Unavailable" debate threads.
I’ll try to catch some of it between the baseball game and football game. I really enjoyed watching CSPAN’s reruns of the 1984 Reagan-Mondale debate (since I missed that one due to traveling) and then they had the Bush-Dukakis debate.
“In for at least one post tonight.”
That’s all I’m sayin....
Already sooooo slow.
There’s time to reboot servers, clean out temp files, do whatever is necessary to get this show on the road before 9pm.
I’d just be happy to ACCESS the posts.
I really miss the Live Threads. Remember the days when we had to literally “speed read” to even keep up on the threads? I will hold positive thoughts that John can figure out what the problems are.
I can’t stand that I can’t get on during anything at all important. It stinks! Election night ought to be another disaster... I’ve always relied on FR for election night, but sure won’t count on it this year.
It already seems a little slow... I need to find a plan B for tonight.
