Four years ago, then-Sen. Barack Obama ran for the White House as the foreign policy novice -- both in the primary against Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, and the general election against John McCain.
That inexperience, it turned out, proved not to be an Achilles' heel.
Monday night, as commander in chief, Obama goes toe-to-toe in the third and final debate with Republican challenger Mitt Romney, and takes the stage as the supposed pro -- or as Romney surrogate John Sununu put it, Obama "thinks this is his sweet spot."
But a close look at Obama's four years of setting and managing America's foreign policy leaves much to interpretation -- and even more unfulfilled. Usama bin Laden is dead, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are drawing to a close, but the administration has not struck a Middle East peace plan, has not yet broken Iran's nuclear determination with sanctions, and has been challenged on its claims that Al Qaeda is "on the run."
Violence in Iraq has also flared since the U.S. military withdrawal. The Guantanamo Bay prison camp is still up and running despite Obama's inaugural pledge to close it. And Russia once again has moved center stage under Vladimir Putin to more of an adversarial threat than potential partner for peace.
The terror attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya is the latest incident to raise questions about the administration's foreign policy. And Romney on Monday night is sure to go after those challenges -- hard -- as he looks to undercut Obama's presidential bona fides going into the final two weeks before Election Day.
Sununu, a former New Hampshire governor and one of the toughest-talking Romney surrogates on the trail, said as much Monday morning, claiming foreign policy has not been the strong suit Obama...

If Obama wins re election gitmo will be expanded and filled up with unruly Americans
As in most politics, perception is what matters.
The Left perceives and likes to claim foreign policy is Obama’s great strength, and with their near-control of the media, a lot of voters have been manipulated into sharing that perception. It’s taken the form of a sort of common knowledge: ‘oh, everyone knows Obama is good at foreign policy.’
Romney has a chance to shatter that image tonight. Doing so would bring the strongest remaining part of the Obama facade crashing down.
A strong Romney performance tonight could well be the final throat-slitting of Obama’s campaign.

If Romney can expose Obama’s inept foreign policy tonight it could wrap up the election for him.
The kenyan’s foreign policy got three embassies overrun and four Americans killed. I don’t think foreign policy is his strong suit. Whining is.
According to the Shepster, attacking Obama’s foreign policy is the same as attacking America. I wonder where he was on the liberals whining about the wars? Was that attacking America? Hypocrisy, thy name is Shepherd Smith.

Anyway, Obama did run on foreign policy. End the war, Bush's failed policies, closing GTMO, and not using waterboarding. A bit of "foreign policy" tends to rub off in personal privacy (4th amendment) interests (warrantless snooping is justified on foreign policy grounds).
Romney telegraphed an interest in the currency side of foreign policy, with his remarks about China being a currency manipulator. IOW, Romney can tie domestic jobs into foreign policy.
I don't see Obama doing any better in this debate than he did in the townhall debate, and I'd bet on him doing worse.
Democratic strategist Mary Anne Marsh said Obama will stress "peace and prosperity" in Boca Raton Monday night, and will give voters a reason to send him into a second term. "I think starting tonight, you're going to hear exactly that from President Obama," she said.
It would take someone without morals, intelligence, and achievement (i.e., a college professor in one of the lib-arts marshmallow departments famous for housing losers) to devend the Obamadork’s abysmal performance in our foreign “policy.”

In 2002, Romney saved the winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
A couple of years ago, Obama went to Copenhagen to try to persuade the Olympic Committee to allow Chicago to host the 2016 Olympics. Almost immediately after listening to Obama, Chicago was the first of the four candidate cities to be eliminated, having almost no support.
If you have seen the stupid--really stupid--approach Obama used--I have seen the telecast--you would understand why. The man has no finesse; he allows his ethnic bias to shine through so strongly, he insults those whom he would persuade--that is when those he would persuade are not dependent upon the U.S. mass media for their information.
The man is pure oaf in dealing with others--pure oaf--when he is not being explained by people like Chris Matthews, having bizarre experiences.

Sweet spot????! More likely, it is his “wet spot” or “brown spot”. Just how can a foreign policy that kills American citizens be a “sweet spot”?
They sided with the wanna be dictator in Honduras after their Supreme Court ruled he (the soon to be ex president) was violating the law. That story more than any told us quite plainly what the administrations inclinations were.
