Larry King, the celebrated talk show host accustomed to A-list interview guests, has agreed to moderate a debate featuring a squad of minor-party presidential candidates.

Politics aside, I never understood how Larry King lasted as long as he did. He is a terrible interviewer, often missing the point, asking his guests thoroughly idiotic questions.
PPV? It could be. Hope the guy with the tin foil hat shows up.
He skates by on his good looks...
I hear that the Movement for the Free Coinage of Chuck E. Cheese Tokens Party candidate has been coordinating with King. He has already seen all of the questions!
Shenanigans!
So saith the Central Committee?
The sheer hypocrisy being expressed by the faux Conservative, party-first sheep on this thread is breathtaking.
Reckon FR will be locked up like during the Obama/Romeny debates?
His campaign probably couldn’t afford the gas to get to the venue.
I think they should get Hannity.
Because this wasn’t going to be surreal enough with just the fringe-kook candidates.....Will Larry even make it thru the debate?
Here’s the “secret” to Larry King’s success. He got a national talk show on Mutual Radio in the days before syndicated talk radio. His only competition was a few trucker shows on clear channel AM stations and local DJs. Politicians discovered that King never prepared for interviews and only lobbed softballs, so they were glad to go on his show. So, King filled a programming vacuum and became a success.
Flash forward to CNN in the mid-80s. The only cable news network—once again, no competition. King was able to attract an audience because the other cable outlets were airing sports, reruns or music videos. When you don’t have serious competition, it’s easy to be the King (pun intended).
Once CNN got some challengers, King’s audience imploded. He hung on for a few more years because the rest of CNN’s line-up was so low-rated, his numbers looked good in comparison. But eventually, when even MSNBC was beating him like a drum, CNN had to pull the plug.
One more note: after becoming a “star” on CNN, King gave up his Mutual show. But when Rush and others began to strike gold in talk radio, Larry decided to make a comeback, figuring he’d bury the competition. He returned in afternoon drive, competing against hosts like Sean Hannity. His last radio show lasted less than a year.
I am not so sure that it is party first as much as reality first. I don’t much care for Myth Romney as a candidate, he sure as hell isn’t a conservative; but right now the realistic choices are between Myth and the Obunghole. I know which way I have to go.
In my perfect world the Tea Party would have organized just enough at the national level (keeping the independence at the local level) to advance a national candidate we could all agree upon and vote for in good conscience. A candidate that was chosen for conservative values, like a Reagan or perhaps a Palin, at least some body who held our same values even if we didn’t agree in all respects.
Perfectly said
We got what we got..
Two choices.. The inventor of Romney-care OR the inventor of Obama-care..
One or the other.. no other choice..
1) Not voting is a vote for Obama.. as is actually voting for him...
2) voting for Zero is worth two votes...
Except not voting robs Romney of a vote and makes someones else’s vote for Obama double important(worth two votes)..
So if you do not vote you’re voting FOR OBAMA... anyway..
ONLY a vote for Romney is a vote against Obama..
Like it or not.. No apples plus no apples equals NO APPLES..
Quite simple really..
Explain to me the third party candidate that has a chance. Many on this forum, including myself, were supporting another candidate in the primary. The fact that many do not find those elections very important we are stuck with who we get.
I can’t speak for everyone that you refer to but I can tell you many are willing to take their chances on Romney to get rid of Obama.
I remember many of the same comments being made about Ronald Reagan trying to convince people they should vote for a guy named Anderson.
The republicans rejected ALL conservative candidates and selected Myth as candidate..
Thats what is.. want it to change, join the Tea Party..
Else it will NOT change.. maybe not even then..
Its possible most Americans are corrupt.. not all but most..
Could be most are high on something.. you know “doped”..
They call it dope for a reason..
Judgeing from Polls somebody is seriously doped..
Zero brags about high gasoline prices ((BRAGS)) and they still vote for him..
The stench of formaldehyde permeates the set.
How do they get him to move?
I was living in Miami Fla. way back when he was on the radio down there. IIRC WKAT.
Anyway one night he up and took off. Left his wife, kids, creditors, house, etc.
Disappeared for about 10 yrs.
I was surprised when he surfaced in Atlanta.
Needless to say I have no use for the man.
