'View' takes religion, military, abortion shots at Ann Romney after playing 'romantic' softball with Obamas
Whoopi Goldberg barely let Ann Romney settle into her seat on ABC's "The View" before pouncing on the first lady hopeful, asking why Mitt Romney didn't serve in Vietnam and if the couple is prepared to console families of fallen soldiers if voted into the White House.
Unlike a recent joint appearance on the show by President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama during which questioning ranged from how romantic is the president to the couple's anniversary, the show's five hosts skipped the softball questions and got right into red meat including military service, abortion and the Romneys' Mormon faith.
When the Obamas' appearance aired on Sept. 25, the panel stuck to questions about the First Couple's 20th wedding anniversary and whether or not President Obama is "romantic," though they did query Obama lightly about the murder of U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens, which the president declined to characterize at the time as an act of terrorism.

Walters grilled Romney on abortion, and stem cell research, but noted she is not the one running for office.

Did she think entering into enemy territory was going to win some votes there?
I agree. Didn’t watch but she shouldn’t have gone.
Hags is the perfect word for them.
Exactly. What makes conservatives think these obnoxious liberal yentas are going to be polite to them?
Why Ann would lower herself to be in the same room as that gaggle of shrews is beyond me. Did Elizabeth Hasselbeck offer at least a token defense?
Unless she’s planning on finding a nice comfy room in the White House and locking herself in it for the next 4 years then unfortunately Ann Romney will have to get used to it. The media and the liberals will do all they can to make her life a living hell during her husbands time in office.
Meanwhile, Obama's "religion" is communist, so-called "Black Liberation" theology. He's gutting the military. He's appeasing our enemies. He's for the most extreme forms of abortion, including letting newborns die if they survive a botched abortion attempt.
Agree. Conservatives/Repubs should refuse to go on such shows and when questioned, respond by saying the people who run these shows will need to start showing some sense of civility to people they disagree with before they will agree to appear on such shows.
In other words, so-called "tolerant" liberals need to show some real tolerance. Otherwise they can sit on their shows and interview people who are mirror images of themselves. Conservatives/Repubs will go on FOX, etc.
Well said.
Those heifers absolutely cannot stand a normal person.
I mean - just take a look at them - especially Whoopi and Joy!
A woman like Ann Romney is just too much for them to handle.
She is living proof that they are on a dead end branch of the volutionary tree.
There's no chance of converting someone hosting but you don't go for the hosts, you go for the audience and The View audience is women.
"Ooooh!! Watching Ann Romney on The View, she's a witch! So rude to Joy Behar in her answer and then when she finishes saying what she wanted to say she abruptly turns her head away from Joy. She comes on to strong and too rude."
LOL! Go get 'em, FFLOTUS!
There’s always a chance that some of the enemy may convert.
OK to be a strong woman, unless you are conservative of course.
turns her head away from Joy.
Well they all talk over each other all the time so I suppose it’s imposssible to know who to look at at any time.
When I imagine Hell I don’t see flames and pitch forks. I see a comfy couch with 6 woman yapping in my ear for all eternity.
Glenn Beck GBTV this morning is going through comparisons between the so called questions to Moochelle when she was recently on that so called women’s program and how Ann Romney was the subject of an inquisition by those old hags.
Joy Behar Chief Inquisitor during interrogation of Ann Romney:
"What do you do all day if you don't watch TV?"
I have no idea why anyone would watch that show much less appear on it. Watching that show is like watching chickens feed. Actually going on the show is like covering oneself with birdseed and laying down in a chicken coop.
Freegards
Me too, DMan. Me too.
...and this person would not consider Joy Behar rude??? Please. I plan to watch the episode just to see this. I’m sure whatever condescending and trick “question” Behar asked Ann Romney deserved the type of response she got.
